Abstract
The rapid development of information technology is very rapid example of social media brings many
advantages in various sectors, one sector of the economy. The advantages offered by social media
conducted by development of micro, small,l and medium enterprises. Writing of this scientific paper
aims to determine the effect of social media implementation on the development of micro, small and
medium enterprises, the influence of social media on increasing marketing of SMEs, and the influence
of social media to increase productivity. The perpetrators of SMEs are now growing in direct
proportion to the rapid increase of internet users, especially social media. Over time online media is
now a major marketing place for SMEs. the role of technology is needed in encouraging the success of
the company to expand market access through the utilization of web-based information technology
that can be used as a medium of modern marketing communication. The advantages offered by online
media ranging from low cost, wide reach, and easy to access by people make many SMEs which
initially market their products through Television, Radio, and newspapers to switch to online media
that are considered very profitable SMEs. From the results of data collection through two ways,
namely Library Research and Field Research the authors found that the most frequently used social
media is facebook, Instagram, and twitter. With the presence of social media is expected SMEs
perpetrators can continue to grow and compete in a healthy way to run the business.
