• Di skeletal muscle fibers, sel cartilage, dan sel target
lain, somatomedins meningkatkan kecepatan uptake
asam amino dan penggabungannya menjadi protein
baru.
• Efek ini terjadi segera setelah pelepasan GH; terutama
setelah makan ketika darah mengandung glucose dan
asam amino dalam konsentrasi tinggi.
• asam amino siap digunakan untuk mensintesa protein.
• GH,aktivitasnya melalui somatomedins, mestimulasi
sintesa protein dan pertumbuhan sel
Aris Prasetyo/Faal 39
Efek metabolik GH
1. Sintesis protein meningkat
2. Penggunaan KH sebagai sumber energi
turun
3. Mobilisasi lemak meningkat
Aris Prasetyo/Faal 40
sparing effect
• Di liver, GH merangsang pemecahan cadangan
glycogen oleh sel liver. Sel ini lalu melepas glucose ke
dalam sirkulasi. Karena banyak jaringan lain yang
memetabolisir asam lemak dibanding
glukosa,konsentrasi glucose darah mulai meningkat
hingga kadarnya lebih tinggi dibanding normal.
Peningkatan kadar glucose darah oleh GH disebut
diabetogenic effect

HORMON YANG MEMPENGARUHI
PERTUMBUHAN :
1. GH
2. H.Tiroid
3. Hormon sex
4. Insulin
5. Glukokortikoid

Kerusakan Growth Hormone
• GH jika diberikan sebelum epiphyseal plates
tertutup, akan menyebabkan peningkatan tinggi,
berat dan masa otot; pada kasus yang ekstrim,
gigantism

The Posterior Pituitary
• The posterior pituitary is also called the
neurohypophysis, or pars nervosa
(nervous part),
• contains the axons of hypothalamic
neurons.
• Neurons of the supraoptic and
paraventricular nuclei manufacture
antidiuretic hormone (ADH) and oxytocin,
respectively.
Antidiuretic Hormone
• vasopressin or arginine vasopressin (AVP)
• Is released in response to a variety of stimuli:
• A rise in the electrolyte concentration in the blood – directly -
Because they respond to a change in the osmotic concentration of
body fluids, these neurons are called osmoreceptors.
• A fall in blood volume or blood pressure. stimulation of another
hormone, angiotensin II
• The primary function of ADH is to decrease the amount of water lost
at the kidneys.
• With losses minimized, any water absorbed from the digestive tract
will be retained, reducing the concentration of electrolytes in the
extracellular fluid.
• In high concentrations, ADH also causes vasoconstriction, a
constriction of peripheral blood vessels that helps elevate blood
pressure.
Oxytocin
• In women, oxytocin (oxy-, quick + tokos,
childbirth)
• stimulates smooth muscle tissue in the
wall of the uterus-promoting labor and
delivery
• stimulates the contraction of myoepithelial
cells around the secretory alveoli and the
ducts of the mammary glands-promoting
the ejection of milk.
KELENJAR ADRENAL
Anatomi
• Kuning
• Berbentuk pyramid
• Kelenjar suprarenal , terletak di sisi atas ginjal
• Banyak vascularisasi
• Berat + 7.5 g
• Kelenjar adrenal dibagi 2 bagian:
– cortex adrenal di permukaan
– medulla adrenal di lapisan dalam
Cortex Adrenal
• Kekuningan - simpanan lipids, cholesterol
dan asam lemak.
• Memproduksi hormones steroid, oki
disebut adrenocortical steroid, atau
disederhanakan corticosteroid
• Korticosteroid vital
• Hormon steroid, menimbulkan effek
dengan memilih gen dengan ditranskrip ke
nukleus sel target.
3 Zones, dari cortex adrenal :
• (1) zona glomerulosa, diluar
• (2) zona fasciculata,di tengah
• (3) zona reticularis, di dalam
