 Gempa Bumi
Gempa bumi adalah getaran asli yang berasal dari dalam bumi, yang kemudian merambat ke permukaan
bumi akibat rekahan bumi pecah dan bergeser dengan keras. Gempa bumi memiliki sifat berulang
sehingga gempa bumi yang terjadi di suatu daerah akan terjadi lagi di masa yang akan datang dalam
periode waktu tertentu. Perulangan gempa tersebut dinamakan dengan siklus Gempa bumi.

Terjadi karena adanya

Tsunami
Tsunami merupakan serangkaian gelombang ombak laut raksasa yang timbul
akibat adanya pergeseran di dasar laut akibat gempa bumi.

Penyebab lainnya adalah

longsor, letusan gunung,
dan jatuhnya benda besar
seperti meteor ke dalam air.
 Pulau Sumatera
Pulau Sumatra memiliki
zona subduksi sebagai
jalur gempa bumi yang
paling banyak
menyerap energi
pergerakan lempeng
sehingga sering
menghasilkan gempa-
gempa besar.

Memiliki panjang 1900 Bagian utara (sesar West Sebagian besar zona
km, terletak melintasi Andaman), selatan subduksi, arah gerak
tulang punggung pulau (sesar Mentawai) lempeng hampir tegak

Mengakibatkan tsunami kecil
setinggi 1 meter di Nias, 80 cm di
Meulaboh, dan 6 cm di Sabang.

Gempa yang disusul dengan
Pusat gempa berada di 659
tsunami ini menewaskan lebih dari
kilometer barat daya Muara Siberut,
461 orang
Kabupaten Kepulauan Mentawai
dengan kedalaman 10 kilometer.
Guncangan gempa terasa di
hampir seluruh wilayah di Sumatra.

tektonik berkekuatan 7,9 SR di
Provinsi Bengkulu

Menurut data Satkorlak PB,
sebanyak 1.117 orang tewas akibat
gempa ini yang tersebar di 3 kota & 11 Agustus 2006 (M6,0)
4 kabupaten di Sumatra Barat, Gempa Simeuleu dengan kekuatan:
korban luka berat mencapai 1.214 6.0 Episentrum: 2°22′26″N
orang, luka ringan 1.688 orang, 96°19′16″E / 2.374°N 96.321°E /
korban hilang 1 orang 2.374

Gelombang tsunami Aceh yang
tingginya mencapai 30 meter (100
ft) menewaskan 230.000–280.000
jiwa di 14 negara dan
menenggelamkan sejumlah
permukiman pesisir.

28 Maret 2005 (M 8,2)

Gempa bumi dan Tsunami di Pulau
Nias menyebabkan kerusakan
melanda daerah Singkil, Meulaboh 4 Juni 2000 (M 7,3)
& Sibolga. Korban jiwa tercatat Gempa bumi yang melanda
lebih dari 1.000 orang meninggal, Provinsi Bengkulu, Indonesia.
lebih dari 2.391 orang luka-luka di Pusat gempa berada di Palung
Pulau Nias, dan 18 orang Jawa dekat pulau Enggano sekitar
meninggal di Pulau Simeulue. 90 Km barat daya Kota Tais,
Kabupaten Seluma pada
kedalaman 33 Km. Gempa ini
menewaskan sedikitnya 94 orang.
 Aceh adalah sebuah provinsi di Indonesia yang beribu kota Banda
Aceh. Aceh terletak di ujung utara pulau Sumatra dan merupakan
provinsi paling barat di Indonesia. Jumlah penduduk provinsi ini
sekitar 4.500.000 jiwa. Letaknya dekat dengan Kepulauan
Aceh Andaman dan Nikobar di India dan terpisahkan oleh Laut
Andaman.

Tsunami terjadi pada 26 Desember 2004.

o Disebabkan oleh gempa dengan kekuatan 9.3 Mw (8.9 SR).

o Mengakibatkan gelombang laut yang tinggi (Tsunami).
o Dengan ketinggian 15-20 m, pada kedalaman 30km dasar laut.

Menurut Badan Rehabilitasi dan Rekonstruksi (BRR) dalam Recovery Platform Book Breakt
hrough bahwa:

“Kejadian tsunami telah menelan 127,720 orang meninggal dunia, 93.285orang yang
hilang dan 635.384 jiwa yang mengungsi di shelter darurat”
UPAYA MITIGASI
Upaya Penanggulangan Tsunami Aceh

Menurut Bappenas, kegiatan tanggap darurat yang dilakukan seperti; evakuasi

dan pemakaman jenazah korban, penanganan pengungsi, pemberian bantuan
darurat, pelayanan kesehatan, sanitasi dan air bersih, pembersihan kota dan
membangun shelter sementara.
