Pemahaman Farmakoekonomi

farmakoekonomi senantiasa mempertimbangkan dua sisi, yaitu biaya (cost) dan hasil pengobatan
(outcome). Sisi ekonomi dari suatu obat/pengobatan ini, faktor biaya (cost) selalu dikaitkan dengan
efektivitas (effectiveness), utilitas (utility) atau manfaat (benefit) dari pengobatan (pelayanan) yang
diberikan.

Pemahaman mengenai farmakoekonomi dapat membantu apoteker membandingkan input (biaya untuk
produk dan layanan farmasi) dan output (hasil pengobatan). Analisis farmakoekonomi memungkinkan
apoteker untuk membuat keputusan penting tentang penentuan formularium, manajemen penyakit, dan
penilaian pengobatan
