PEMBUATAN SIMPLISIA DAUN
SEMBUNG
Tujuan praktikum : Mahasiswa mengetahui cara / langlah langkah membuat simplisia

Dasar teori : Simplisia adalah bahan alam yang telah dikeringkan yang digunakan untuk pembuatan dan belum mengalami
pengelohan, kecuali dinyatakan lain, suhu pegeringan tidak lebih dari 60 C (BPOM, 2014)

Sembung ( blumea balsamifera) (L) merupakan tumbuhan yang mempunyai banyak manfaat, bagian dari tumbuhan
sembung yang banyak dimanfaatkan adalah daunya, masyarakat menggunakan daun sembung dalam bentuk simplisia di
pasar karena masyarkat percaya bahwa kualitas simplisia tersebut bagus dan dapat digunakan sebagi obat. (USDY, 2004

PEMBAHASAN
Pembuatan simplisia bertujuan untuk mempelajari dan melakukan pembuatan simplisia yang baik dan benar
sehingga dapat digunakan bagan baku obat, sampel kelompo kami yaitu daun sembung tahapan dilakukan dengan
beberapa prosese yaitu pemetikan atau pengumpulan bahan baku, sortasi basah, pencucian , perajangan atau pengubahan
bentuk, pencucian lagi, sortasi kering penghalusan dan pengepakan. Sebelum memasuki tahapan pembuatan sampel
daun sembung di pilih lalu ditimbang untuk mengetahui berat sampel.
Pada tahap sortasi basah daun sembung dipilih dan dipisahkan dari akarnya tanaman lain, gulma, batu batuan /
tanaman lain yang ikut panen seperti debu, tanah, batu maupun hewan yang menempel, pada tahan pencucian ini
diharapkan sisa sisa pengotor yang menempel dapat ikut dega air , pepncucian dilakukan 2-3 kali agar benar benar bersih
kemudia setelah dicuci sampel ditimbang
Tahap ketiga adalah tahap penguba bentuk / perajangan untuk daun sembung karena ukuran daun tidak terlalu
besar / kecil maka dipotong potong hal ini dilakukan untuk mempercepat pengeringan dilakukan dengan dijemur
dibawah trik matahari selama 3 hari, factor cuaca juga berpengaruh sehingga sampel daun sembung kami dapet hasil
maximal setelah 3 hari dijemur pengeringan dilakukan untuk menghilangkan kadar air dibawah 10% ini untuk
menonaktifkan kerja enzim dalam tanaman sehingga waktu simplisia panjang dan juga dapat mencegah timbulnya jamur
dan bakteri
KESIMPULAN
Pembuatan simplisia daun sembung melalui proses sortasi basah, pencucian, pengubahan bentuk / perajangan ,
pengeringan, sortasi kering, pengemasan dan penyimpanan
