A pronoun is a word that can replace a noun or noun phra

se. Pronouns function to avoid repeating the same noun or
noun phrase that has been previously mentioned.

Pronoun atau kata ganti adalah kata yang dapat menggantikan

suatu kata benda atau frasa kata benda. Kata ganti berfungsi
menghindari pengulangan kata benda atau frasa kata benda yang
sama yang telah disebut sebelumnya.

 PERSONAL PRONOUN

(orang yang berbicara)
Ex: I want to buy a book
We have to go to school Second Person  the person spoken
(orang yang diajak berbicara)
Ex: You are an engineer
As students, you must study hard to pass the exam

Third person  the person / thing being spoken of

(Orang / sesuatu yang sedang dibicarakan)
Ex: He plays tennis every weekend

Possessive Pronoun  kata ganti yang menunjukkan kepemilikan yang
asalnya dari personal pronoun
Possessive Pronoun dapat berfungsi sebagai adjective dan juga pronoun

Example
 The two storey house over there is my house
 Which one of these books is hers?
Possessive Pronoun yang memiliki fungsi sebagai adjective adalah my,
your, his, her, its, our, their

Ex:
 Where is your English dictionary?
 His car crashed into a tree last night
 Two storey house over there is my house
 Possessive Pronoun yang memiliki fungsi sebagai
pronoun adalah mine, yours, his, hers, its, ours,
theirs

 The fried chicken you are eating is mine

 Reflexive Pronoun
Reflexive Pronoun  kata ganti yang merupakan bentuk pantulan dari pronoun itu sendiri

Yang masuk dalam reflexive pronoun adalah myself, yourself, himself, herself, ourselves, themselves

I wrapped the gift myself Can you do your homework by yourself ?

Bisakah kamu mengerjakan PR mu sendiri?

Indefinite Pronoun  kata ganti yang tidak tentu

Indefinite Pronoun dapat dikategorikan menjadi: indefinite person dan indefinite quantity

Indefinite Person Indefinite quantity:

Someone, somebody, something, One/ones, none, all, most, either,
everyone, everybody, everything, neither, each, another, others, the
anyone, anybody, anything, other/s, any, some, few, both, less,
no one, nobody, nothing least, many, several, plenty, much,
more, a lot of, lots of
