Bromo Masih Bergejolak

Metrotvnews.com, Malang: Hingga Sabtu (27/11), Gunung Bromo masih menunjukkan aktivitas vulkaniknya.
Letusan kembali terjadi pada Sabtu pukul 05.00 WIB, meski lebih kecil dibandingkan letusan Jumat sore.

Letusan pada Sabtu pagi mengeluarkan asap tebal bermuatan material vulkanik yang membubung tinggi hingga
300 meter. Material berupa abu vulkanik tertiup ke arah barat daya atau ke arah Kota Malang, Jawa Timur.

Sementara batu vulkanik jatuh di sekitar Area Kaldera atau lautan pasir Bromo yang memiliki luas 5.000
hektare. Sedangkan besaran gempa tremor tercatat antara delapan hingga 10 milimeter.

Petugas Badan Nasional Penanggulan Bencana menyatakan apabila erupsi kecil terus terjadi, energi yang
tersimpan di dalam Bromo bakal berkurang. Alhasil, erupsi besar tidak akan terjadi.

Erupsi lebih besar terjadi Jumat sore. Aktivitas Bromo meningkat yang diakhiri dengan letusan pada pukul
16.00 WIB. Letusan disertai abu vulkanik yang menjulang hingga 500 meter. Amplitudo gempa vulkanik naik
hingga 15 milimeter.(RAS)
