3.2.Sumber Informasi
Dalam pelaksanaan survei dan pemetaan
tanah tingkat tinjau ini sumber informasi yang telah digunakan adalah peta
topografi, peta geologi, potret udara,
citra Landsat, citra Radar serta
beberapa peta dan laporan survei terdahulu sebagai nara sumber.
Disamping peta topografi skala
1:250.000 ( B A K O S U R T A N A L , 1 9 8 5 )
digunakan pula peta topografi berskala
1:50.000 (BAKOSURTANAL, 1982).

. Batuan-batuan i n i
telah mengalami perubahan hidrotermal
dan dformasi t e k t o n i k . Batuan Tov
umumnya b e r k o m p o s i s i
andesitik.
Batuan-batuan Tersier non-volkan sangat
jarang di jumpai pada iembar peta
ini.
Kuarter
Endapan Kuarter dapat dibagi dalara empat grup utama :
(a) Tuf Lampung (Qlv)
(b ) Basal Sukadana (Qb)
(c) Batuan andesit muda (Qhv)
(d) Endapan aluvial dan marin (Qal)
a.
Tuf Lampung yang menutupi bagian
terluas di tiraur dan utara Iembar peta
ini merupakan endapan ignimbrit yang
s e b a g i a n b e s a r diendapkan
dalam
lingkungan marin dan setempat-setempat
secara erat bercampur dengan endapan
marin halus. Tuf mempunyai komposisi
dasitik sampai l i p a r i t i k dengan kadar
t i n g g i gelas dan batuapung. Karena
diduga pusat erupsi berada di Teluk
Lampung, maka keadaan tuf dari endapan
berangsur berkurang kearah utara.
4.2.
Fisiografi
b.
Basal Sukadana merabentuk jalur
l e b a r ( l e b a r Ik. 25 km) dengan arah
t e n g g a r a - b a r a t l a u t di bagian timur
Iembar peta i n i .
Basal ini mempunyai umur hampir sama
dengan Tuf Lampung.
Batuan
ini
sebagian besar basal o l i v i n .
Pada
pi a to basal terdapat sejumlah krucut
sinder kecil-kecil dan muda.
c.
Sebagian besar batuan volkan andesitik muda t'erniasuk dalam tiga pusat
erupsi utama ; Volkan R a t a i . Betung
dan Rajabasa.
Beberapa pusat erupsi tua dan kec i l
juga ditemukan. misalnya di bagian
baratlaut Iembar peta i n i .
Setempatsetempat bahan volkan muda raerupakan
lapisan penutup t i p i s di atas batuan
tua seperti Tuf Lampung. misalnya di
baratlaut kompleks Rajabasa.

4.3. Hidrologi
Daerah lembar peta Tanjungkarang mempunyai ketinggian antara Om (pantai)
sampai 1.700m dpi (Gunung Ratai).
Topografinya menurun ke arah timur
membentuk dataran/ dataran rendah yang
diselingi daerah plato dari basai
Sukadana.
Sungai-sungai utama di daerah ini a.l.
Way Sekampung, W.Kambas, W.Penet yang
bermuara di Laut Jawa dan beberapa
sungai kecil yang mengalir ke arah
utara.

5. SATUAN LAHAN
5.1. Satuan lahan dan tanah.
Secara garis besar satuan lahan lembar
peta Tanjungkarang (1110) dapat
dikelompokkan kedalam 8 (delapan) grup
yaitu: Grup Aluvial ( A ) , Marin (B),
Dataran Tuf Masam ( I ) , Dataran (P),
Volkan (V), Perbukitan (H), Pegunungan
dan Plato (M) serta Aneka Bentuk
(Gambar 7) . Pada setiap satuan lahan
umunya diketemukan lebih dari satu
satuan tanah (pada tingkat Great
Group), dan agar meraudahkan pembacaannya maka setiap satuan tanah yang
