This research aims to study the relationship between the Use of wire netting
and ceiling with Malaria incidence in Jalan Gedang Village Area Bengkulu City.
This type of research was analytic survey using Case Control design. The
population in this study were all householders residing in Jalan Gedang Village
Bengkulu City. The sampling technique in this study using the formula OR (odds
ratio) and obtained a sample of 54 families. Data collection in studies using
primary data obtained from interviews with respondents. Data analyzing
technique using univariate and bivariate analysis with Chi-Square (2) test. To
determine the relationship using statistical test contingency Coefficient (C) by
SPSS.
The results of this study were from 54 householders, there were 33 (61.1%)
householders that use wire netting in their homes are not eligible, there were 29
(53.7%) householders that use the ceiling are not eligible, from 54 householders
there were 27 householders (50%) whose family members experienced the
incidence of malaria in Jalan Gedang Village Bengkulu City. There was a
significant relationship between the use of wire netting with the incidence of
malaria in Jalan Gedang Village Bengkulu City with moderate relationship
category. With OR: 6.4. There was a significant relationship between the use of
ceiling with the incidence of malaria in the Jalan Gedang Village Bengkulu city
with a close relationship category. With OR: 20.125. It is suggested to Jalan
Gedang Village Bengkulu city to continue to facilitate the prevention of malaria
with health education, striving for mosquito eradication and prevention of
mosquito thus reduce the number of malaria incidences in Health Center Working
Area.
