Abstrak

Dengan berkembang pesatnya teknologi di bidang telekomunikasi, pengimplementasian

jaringan telekomunikasi menjadi fleksibel. Teknologi telekomunikasi sekarang tidak hanya
untuk sarana komunikasi dua arah antar manusia, melainkan sudah digunakan untuk
pengendalian objek tertentu menggunakan sinyal internet, itulah yang disebut Internet of things
( Iot ). Context-Aware Smarthome merupakan salah satu bentuk penerapan Iot. Smart home ini
memiliki kecerdasan untuk melakukan otomatisasi perangkat rumah berdasar keinginan
pengguna. Context aware smarthome memiliki dua sistem penunjang yaitu remote access dan
home automation. Sistem remote access dirancang menggunakan protokol MQTT.
Perancangan Context-Aware Smart Home bertujuan untuk mengetahui performa teknologi
M2M dengan protokol MQTT pada smart home. Metode yang digunakan menggunakan
metode analitik kuantitatif protokol M2M. Pengujian membandingkan protokol MQTT dengan
protocol HTTP. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan protokol MQTT menghasilkan overhead yang
lebih kecil daripada protokol HTTP, sehingga protokol MQTT bisa diterapkan pada M2M.
Dengan teknologi yang ada pada saat ini, Context-Aware Smart Home sulit direalisasikan
karena membutuhkan teknologi tinggi dan biaya yang besar. Namun dengan pesatnya teknologi
saat ini, bukan tidak mungkin Context-Aware Smart Home dapat direalisasikan dalam waktu
yang tidak lama lagi dengan harga yang bisa terjangkau.

 Abstract
With the rapid growth of technology in the telecommunication, the implementation of
telecommunication network becomes more flexible. Now, technology of telecommunication is
not only used for the means of two-way communication between humans, but it is also used to
control certain objects using Internet signals, its called the Internet of things (IoT). Context-
Aware Smarthome is one form of application of IoT. Smart home has the intelligence to
automate home devices based on user desires. Context aware smarthome has two support
systems,there are remote access and home automation. The remote access system is designed
using the MQTT protocol. Designing Context-Aware Smart Home aims to determine the
performance of M2M technology with MQTT protocol on smart home. The method used is
quantitative analytical method of M2M protocol. According to a test comparing the MQTT
protocol with the HTTP protocol. The results showed that MQTT protocols result in less
overhead than the HTTP protocol, so the MQTT protocol can be applied to M2M. With today's
technology, Context-Aware Smart Home is difficult to realize because it requires high
technology and expensive cost. But with the rapid technology today, its possible that Context-
Aware Smart Home can be realized with affordable prices.
