Judul : Pengaruh Pemberian Pewarna Sintetis Makanan Tartrazine
Peroral Terhadap Jumlah Sel Leydig Tikus Putih (Rattus
norvegicus) Jantan Galur Wistar

Tartrazine merupakan pewarna dengan senyawa yang labil sehingga dapat

menyebabkan kerusakan pada organ tertentu. Salah satu sifat toksiknya adalah
menurunkan fungsi sistem organ reproduksi. Sel leydig adalah sel penghasil
hormon untuk sistem reproduksi dan mempengaruhi kesuburan laki-laki. Penelitian
ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian pewarna sintetis makanan
tartrazine peroral terhadap jumlah sel leydig tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus) jantan
galur wistar. Penelitian ini merupakan eksperimental laboratik dengan rancangan
post test control group design menggunakan 24 ekor tikus putih jantan (Rattus
norvegicus) galur wistar terbagi menjadi 4 kelompok dengan 1 kelompok kontrol
dan 3 kelompok perlakuan yang diberikan Tartrazine dosis bertingkat berturut-turut
(3,5 mg/grBB/hari), (7 mg/grBB/hari) dan (14 mg/grBB/hari) selama 21 hari.
Analisis data menggunakan uji One Way ANOVA untuk melihat pengaruh tartrazine
terhadap jumlah sel leydig dan didapatkan p value = 0,000 (p<0,05). Penelitian ini
menunjukkan pemberian pewarna sintesis makanan Tartrazine peroral berpengaruh
terhadap penurunan jumlah sel leydig tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus) jantan galur
wistar.

That Given Orally to Leydig Cells Count in Male Rats (Rattus
norvegicus) Wistar Strain

Tartrazine had unstable compound that possibly can cause damage to the
organs. The substance dangerous effect of Tartrazine is decreasing the function the
reproductive system organ. Leydig cell is hormone producing cell for the
reproductive system organ and it can influence the degree male fertility. This study
aimed to determine the effect of synthetic food dye Tartrazine that given orally to
leydig cell count in male rats (Rattus norvegicus) Wistar strain. This was an
experimental laboratic study with post test control group design using 24 male rats
(Rattus norvegicus) Wistar strain that divided into four groups with one control
group and 3 treatment groups that given multilevel doses of Tartrazine
consecutively (3,5 mg/gr of body weight/day), (7 mg/gr of body weight/day) and
(14 mg/gr of body weight/day) in 21 days treatment. Analysis of data in the One
Way ANOVA and the result from One Way Anova obtained p= 0,000 (p<0,05) this
study showed that there was the effect of synthetic food dye Tartrazine that given
orally to the decrease of leydig cell in male rats (Rattus norvegicus) Wistar strain.
