ABSTRACT
Sedimentation is the process of settling solids by gravity that can occur on land,
coastlines and even the ocean floor. The aim of this experiment is to precipitate
solid particles using materials such as alum and with different time variations.
The samples used is 500 L of reservoir water from Riau University with 250 gram
of alum. Sample analysis is carried out both before the sedimentation process
begins and after the sedimentation process is done for 2 hours, 4 hours and 6
hours. The analysis includes total dissolved solids (TDS), total suspended solids
(TSS), and total solids (TS). So that the result obtained is the longer the
processing time, the value of TDS, TSS and TS decreases.
