PENYEDERHANAAN RENCANA PELAKSANAAN PEMBELAJARAN (RPP)

(Berdasarkan Surat Edaran Mendikbud Nomor 14 Tahun 2019)


Kelas/Semester : X/1
Jenjang : SMA
Alokasi Waktu : 2 x 45 menit
Materi Pokok : Persamaan Kuadrat
Tujuan Pembelajaran:
1) Siswa dapat mencari akar-akar persamaan kuadrat yang diberikan dengan cara
memfaktorkan.
2) Diketahui suatu persamaan kuadrat, siswa dapat mencari akar-akar persamaan kuadrat
yang diberikan dengan cara melengkapkan kuadrat.
3) Siswa dapat mencari akar-akar persamaan kuadrat yang diberikan dengan menggunakan
rumus abc (rumus kuadrat).
Kegiatan Pembelajaran:
Membuka Pelajaran: (1) Guru masuk kelas tepat waktu dan mengajak doa/salam dengan
ramah, (2) guru menanyakan siswa yang tidak masuk, (3) guru mengecek kebersihan papan tulis
dan menyiapkan alat-alat pelajaran yang diperlukan, (4) guru memberikan judul materi yang
akan dibahas, (5) guru memberikan informasi tentang tujuan pembelajaran yang akan dicapai,
dan (6) guru meminta siswa mempersiapkan buku dan alat tulis yang digunakan.
Kegiatan Inti:
1) Guru menjelaskan pengertian Persamaan Kuadrat, akar-akar persamaan kuadrat, dan cara-cara
mencari akar-akar (x1 dan x2) suatu persamaan kuadrat, dengan metode tanya-jawab dan
model pembelajaran Problem based Learning, dengan Pendekatan Saintifik.
2) Siswa diberi contoh soal tentang cara-cara mencari akar-akar (x1 dan x2) suatu persamaan
kuadrat dengan 3 cara.
3) Siswa mengerjakan latihan soal yang diberikan guru dan mengerjakannya dalam kelompok.
4) Siswa mengerjakan kuis/soal yang diberikan oleh guru.
Menutup Pelajaran: (1) Guru memberikan PR kepada siswa, (2) guru memberikan nasihat atau
motivasi agar siswa belajar giat, dan (3) guru memberikan salam perpisahan.
Evaluasi/Assisment:
1. Tentukan x1 dan x2 dari persamaan kuadrat 6x2 + x – 2 = 0 dengan cara memfaktorkan.
2. Tentukan x1 dan x2 dari persamaan kuadrat 9x2 – 6x – 3 = 0 dengan cara melengkapkan
kuadrat.
3. Tentukan x1 dan x2 dari persamaan kuadrat x2 + x – 20 = 0 dengan menggunakan rumus
abc.

(6x2 + 3x) – (2x + 2) = 0
3x(x + 1) – 2(x + 1) = 0
(3x – 2)(x + 1) = 0

(1) Guru masuk kelas tepat waktu dan memberikan salam ke siswa dengan ramah.

S: I am fine, Sir. Thank you. And you?
T: I am fine. Thanks.

(2) Guru menanyakan siswa yang tidak masuk.


The teacher asks to students about who is student absent..
T: Who is absent today?
S: No body, Sir.

(3) Guru memeriksa kebersihan papan tulis.


The teacher checks the cleanliness of the whiteboard.
T: Who is on duty today?
S: Budi, Sir.
T: Okay Budi. Please, help me to clean the White Board.
B: Yes, Sir.
T: Thank you, Budi.
B: You are welcome, Sir.

(4) Guru memberikan judul materi yang akan dibahas.


The teacher provides the title of the material to be discussed.
Okay students, today we are going to discuss about Quadratic Equations.

(5) Guru memberikan informasi tentang tujuan pembelajaran yang akan dicapai.
The teacher provides information about the learning objectives to be achieved.
Okay students, after today's lesson is over, hopefully you can calculate the roots of the
quadratic equation in various ways.

(6) Guru meminta siswa mempersiapkan buku dan alat tulis yang digunakan.
The teacher asks students to prepare books and stationery to use.
Please open your Mathematics Textbook at page 18, prepare your Writing Book, and the
writing tools that you will use.

mencari akar-akar (x1 dan x2) suatu persamaan kuadrat, dengan metode tanya-jawab, model
pembelajaran Problem based Learning, dengan Pendekatan Saintifik.
The teacher explains the meaning of Quadratic Equations, the roots of quadratic equations,
and ways to find the roots (x1 and x2) of a quadratic equation, using the question and answer
method, problem based learning model, with a scientific approach.

Quadratic Equations

Definition/Understanding:
A general form of Quadratic Equation in variable x can be written as:
ax2 + bx + c = 0, for a ≠ 0 and a, b, c ϵ Ɍ
x1 and x2 are called the roots of a Quadratic Equation.
Finding the roots (x1 and x2) of a Quadratic Equation, there are 3 ways, namely:
(1) By factoring.
(2) By completing the square.
(3) By using of “abc” Fomula.

For example 1:
Determine x1 and x2 of Quadratic Equation 2x2 + 9x – 5 = 0 by factoring.
Solution:
Given a Quadratic Equation 2x2 + 9x – 5 = 0.
Determine x1 and x2 of Quadratic Equation 2x2 + 9x – 5 = 0 by factoring.
Answer (Students can try it first):
2x2 + 9x – 5 = 0
2x2 + 10x – x – 5 = 0
(2x2 + 10x) – (x + 5) = 0
2x(x + 5) – (x + 5) = 0
(2x – 1)(x + 5) = 0
(2x – 1) = 0 or (x + 5) = 0
2x – 1 = 0 x+5=0
2x = 1 x=–5
x=½
So, we get: x1 = ½ and x2 = – 5.

For example 2:
Given a Quadratic Equation 4x2 – 12x – 7 = 0.
Determine x1 and x2 of Quadratic Equation 4x2 – 12x – 7 = 0 by completing the square.
Answer (Students can try it first)::

4x2 – 12x – 7 = 0
4x2 – 12x + 9 – 9 – 7 = 0
4x2 – 12x + 9 = 16
(2x – 3)2 = 16
2x – 3 = ±√ 16

For example 3:
Given a Quadratic Equation x2 + 2x – 15 = 0.
Determine x1 and x2 of Quadratic Equation x2 + 2x – 15 = 0 by using of “abc” fomula.
Answer (Students can try it first):

x2 + 2x – 15 = 0 means a = 1, b = 2, and c = – 15.
