A. Agreement (Ungkapan Setuju)

1. Strong Agreement yaitu ungkapan yang digunakan disaat kita ingin menunjukkan rasa
setuju yang terama sangat, benar-benar setuju atau 100% setuju.

Berikut adalah ungkapan-ungkapan strong agreement yang sering digunakan:

 I agree with you
 I agree completely
 I think it’s not as difficult as...
 I’m not sure that I agree with you
 Exactly, you are perfectly right….
 I could not agree with you more….
 Precisely….
 Exactly, you are right….
 Absolutely, she is right.
 You are perfectly right….
 I am with you….
 No doubt about it….
2. Mild Agreement yaitu ungkapan yang digunakan ketika kita ingin menunjukkan rasa
setuju namun belum benar-benar yakin 100 persen.

Berikut adalah ungkapan-ungkapan Mild Agreement yang sering digunakan:

 I suppose so (Saya rasa begitu)
 You may be right there (Anda mungkin ada di sana bro!)
 I agree with you (Saya setuju denganmu)
 Tell me about it! (Beritahu aku tentang itu!
 That’s true, I suppose (Itu benar, saya kira)

B. Disagreement (Ungkapan Tidak Setuju)

1. Strong Disagreement yaitu ungkapan yang digunakan untuk menunjukkan sebuah

penolakan yang keras karena tidak setuju dengan pendapat atau pernyataan orang lain
atau kita 100% menolaknya.

Berikut ini adalah beberapa ungkapan Strong Disagreement yang sering digunakan:
 I think you are wrong (Saya pikir kamu salah)
 Of course, not (Tentu saja tidak)
 That’s absurd (Itu tidak masuk akal)
 I am sorry, that is out of question (Saya minta maaf, itu tidak mungkin)
 I’d say the exact opposite (Saya akan mengatakan sebaliknya)
 No way! (Tidak mungkin!)
 That’s ridiculous (Itu konyol)
 I totally disagree (saya tidak percaya sama sekali)
2. Mild Disagreement yaitu ungkapan yang digunakan untuk menyampaikan rasa tidak
setuju namun dengan cara yang halus.

Berikut ini adalah beberapa ungkapan Mild Disagreement yang biasa digunakan:
 I don’t really agree with you….
 I know, but….
 I agree with you, but ….
 I’m not sure about that….
 I don’t think so….

Contoh Kalimat Agree and Disagree:

A. I think Valentino Rossi is really an incredible rider.

B. Sorry , I don’t think so.

A: Hey Fizi, what do you think about that movie?

B: I love that movie so
A: I am so sorry Fizi, I think you are wrong. That movie was so boring. I totally disagree
with you, Fizi. The plot is so flat, you know. I think, it made all of the viewers sleep when
they watched it.

A: I think Susi and Memei like watching Upin and Ipin the movie.
B: I believe that Santi dan Meichan like watching Upin dan Ipin but I am not sure that
their boyfriends like too.

A: Hey bro, look at my new Harley Davidson! It’s so luxurious, isn’t it?
B: Exactly, you are perfectly right. It’s one of the most powerful bikes in the world.

A: I believe Taufik Hidayat has a secreet plan to win the final game, but his coach is not
sure about his plan.
B: I’m not sure about that.

Ungkapan setuju ( Agree)

• I agree = saya setuju

• I agree with you = saya setuju dengan Anda
• I couldn’t agree with you more = saya sangat setuju dengan Anda
• That’s so sure = Benar sekali
• Abesolutely! = Benar sekali!
• You’re absolutely right! = Anda benar sekali!
• That’s exactly what I think = Hal itu tepat seperti yang saya pikirkan
• Exactly! = Tepat sekali!
• I’m afraid I agree with him = Saya rasa saya setuju dengan dia
• I have to side with you on this one = Saya harus berpihak pada Anda untuk

yang satu ini

• No doubt about it = Tidak ada keraguan mengenai hal itu
• Tell me about it! (Bahasa Slang, bermakna setuju)
• I guess so, I suppose so = Saya kira begitu (Setuju tapi tidak terlalu yakin)
• I was going to say that = Saya tadi ingin bilang begitu
• I am with you = Saya sependapat dengan Anda

Ungkapan tidak setuju ( Disagree)

• I don’t think so = Saya rasa tidak…

• No way! = Tidak setuju! (Ungkapan tidak setuju yang kuat)
• I’m afraid I disagree with that = Saya rasa saya tidak setuju dengan hal itu
• I totally disagree = Saya sangat tidak setuju
• I beg to differ = Saya ingin berpendapat berbeda
• I’d say the exact opposite = Saya ingin berpendapat sebaliknya (Ungkapan
tidak setuju yang kuat)
• That’s not always true = Itu tak selalu benar
• Not necessarily = Itu tidak penting
• That’s not always the case = itu bukan selalu masalahnya
