Pengertian

Istilah galenika di ambil dari nama seorang tabib Yunani yaitu Claudius
Galenos (GALEN) yang membuat sediaan obat-obatan yang berasal dari
tumbuhan dan hewan, sehingga timbulah ilmu obat-obatan yang disebut ilmu
galenika. Jadi Ilmu Galenika adalah : Ilmu yang mempelajari tentang
pembuatan sediaan (preparat) obat dengan cara sederhana dan dibuat dari
alam (tumbuhan dan hewan).

Tujuan

1. Untuk memisahkan obat-obat yang terkandung dalam simplisia dari

bagian lain yang dianggap tidak bermanfaat.
2. Membuat suatu sediaan yang sederhana dan mudah dipakai
3. Agar obat yang terkandung dalam sediaan tersebut stabil dalam
penyimpanan yang lama.

yang perlu
diperhatikan

1. Derajat kehalusan
Derajat kehalusan ini harus disesuaikan dengan mudah atau tidaknya obat yang
terkandung tersebut di sari. Semakin sukar di sari, simplisia harus dibuat
semakin halus, dan sebaliknya.
2. Konsentrasi / kepekatan
Beberapa obat yang terkandung atau aktif dalam sediaan tersebut harus jelas
konsentrasinya agar kita tidak mengalami kesulitan dalam pembuatan.
3. Suhu dan lamanya waktu
Harus disesuaikan dengan sifat obat, mudah menguap atau tidak, mudah tersari
atau tidak.
4. Bahan penyari dan cara penyari
Cara ini harus disesuaikan dengan sifat kelarutan obat dan daya serap bahan
penyari ke dalam simplisia.

bentuk sediaan velatilia (minyak menguap), olea pinguia (minyak lemak)

 Hasil Cara Penarikan

Ekstrak 1
Adalah sediaan pekat yang diperoleh 2 Tingtur
dengan mengekstraksi zat aktif dari Larutan yang mengandung etanol atau
simplisia nabati atau hewani hidroalkohol yang dibuat dari bahan
menggunakan pelarut yang sesuai, tumbuhan atau senyawa kimia.
kemudian semua atau hampir semua
pelarut diuapkan dan massa atau serbuk
yang tersisa diperlakukan sedemikian
sehingga memenuhi baku yang
ditetapkan.

3 Decocta/Infusa
Adalah sediaan cair yang
dibuat dengan
mengekstraksi simplisia
nabati dengan air pada suhu
90 ⁰C selama 15 menit.
 Hasil Cara Penyulingan

Air Aromatik
Adalah larutan jernih dan jenuh
dalam air dari minyak mudah
menguap atau senyawa
aromatikatau bahan mudah
menguap lain.

Adalah campuran senyawa asam
lemak bersuku tinggi (berbobot
molekul tinggi dan berantai carbon
panjang) dengan gliserin.

Cara pembuatan

A. Cara-cara penarikan
1. Maserasi
Maserasi adalah cara penarikan simplisia dengan merendam simplisia
tersebut dalam cairan penyari pada suhu biasa atau memakai pemanasan. Ph
Belanda VI menetapkan suhunya 15-25⁰ C.
2. Digerasi
suatu cara penarikan yang suhunya sedikit lebih tinggi daripada maserasi. Ph.
Belanda VI menetapkan suhunya adalah 35- 45 ⁰C.
3. Perkolasi
suatu cara penarikan memakai alat yang disebut perkolator yang simplisianya
terendam dalam cairan penyari, zat-zat akan terlarut dan larutan tersebut akan
menetes secara beraturan sampai memenuhi syarat yang telah ditetapkan.

C. Syrup
Adalah sediaan cair berupa larutan yang mengandung sakarosa, kadar sakarosa
tidak kurang dari 64 % dan tidak lebih dari 66%.
Contoh-contoh sediaan sirop : ferrosi iodidi sirupus sirupus thymi, sirupus simplex
