Penulisan Huruf Dalam Bahasa Indonesia
Pemakaian huruf menurut PUEBI (Pedoman Umum Ejaan Bahasa Indonesia)
dibedakan menjadi 8, antara lain

• Huruf abjad
Abjad yang dipakai dalam ejaan bahasa indonesia terdiri atas 26 huruf (A, B,C, D,
E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, W, X, Y, Z)
• Huruf vokal
Huruf yang melambangkan vokal dalam bahasa indonesia terdiri atas lima huruf,
yaitu a, i, u, e, o
• Huruf Konsonan
Huruf yang melambangkan konsonan dalam bahasa Indonesia terdiri atas 21 huruf,
yaitu b, c, d, f, g, h, j, k, l, m, n, p, q, r, s, t, v, w, x, y, dan z

4. Huruf diftong
Diftong adalah dua vokal yang diucapkan sekaligus. Di dalam bahasa Indonesia
terdapat empat diftong yang dilambangkan dengan gabungan huruf vokal ai, au,
ei dan oi.

5. Gabungan huruf konsonan

Gabungan huruf konsonan kh,ng, ny, dan sy masing-masing melambangkan satu
bunyi konsonan.

6. Huruf kapital

• Huruf kapital dipakai sebagai huruf pertama awal kalimat

• Huruf kapital dipakai sebagai huruf pertama unsur nama orang, termasuk
julukan
• Huruf kapital dipakai sebagai huruf pertama unsur nama gelar kehormatan,
keturunan, keagamaan atau akademik yang diikuti nama orang, termasuk
gelar akademik yang mengikuti nama orang
• Huruf kapital tidak dipakai untuk menuliskan huruf pertama kata yang
bermakna ‘anak dari’, seperti bin, binti, boru, dan van atau huruf pertama
kata tugas.

7. Huruf miring
• Huruf miring dipakai untuk menuliskan judul buku, nama majalah atau nama surat
kabar yang dikutip dalam tulisan, termasuk dalam daftar pustaka
• Huruf miring dipkai untuk menegaskan atau mengkhususkan huruf, bagian kata, kata,
atau kelompok kata dalam kalimat
• Huruf miring dipakai untuk menuliskan kata atau ungkapan dalam bahasa daerah atau
bahasa asing

8. Huruf tebal
• Huruf tebal dipakai untuk menegaskan bagian tulisan yang sudah ditulis miring
• Huruf tebal dapat dipakai untuk menegaskan bagian-bagian karangan,seperti judul
buku, bab, atau sub bab.

Angka adalah tanda atau lambang untuk

menyatakan suatu bilangan. Sedangkan bilangan
adalah suatu unsur matematika yang digunakan
untuk melakukan pengukuran dan pencacahan.

1. Penulisan angka untuk menyatakan nomor atau lambang bilangan dapat

ditulis dengan angka romawi atau arab
2. Penulisan angka untuk menyatakan nilai nominal suatu uang.
3. Penulisan angka untuk menyatakan jumlah atau kuantitas, ukuran (panjang,
berat, isi, luas, volume
4. Penulisan angka untuk menyatakan waktu
5. Penulisan angka untuk melambangkan nomor kamar,
rumah/hotelapartemen, jalan pada alamat
6. Penulisan angka untuk memberi nomor bagian-bagian dari suatu
buku/karanga, kitab suci, majalah, surat kabar

7. Penulisan angka untuk menuliskan lambang bilangan yang menggunakan

huruf secara terpisah antar bagian dan awalan (seperti pada pecahan), maka
penulisannya disatukan dengan bagian lain yang berada setelah/di
belakangnya
8. Penulisan angka untuk menyatakan lambang bilangan tingkat dari angka
Romawi, dapat ditulis dengan memakai tanda hubung (ke-) kemudian diikuti
dengan angka atau dirangkaian penulisannya jika angka tersebut
dinyatakan dengan kata.
9. Penulisan angka untuk menyatakan lambang bilangan yang ditambahkan
dengan imbuhan akhiran –an, penulisannya memakai tanda hubung setelah
angka (seperti : ...-an) atau dapat dirangkaikan jika angka tersebut
dinyatakan dengan kata.
