Paps smear

Beberapa tujuan dari pemeriksaan Pap Smear yang

dikemukakan oleh Sukaca,
(2009) yaitu :
1) Untuk mendeteksi pertumbuhan sel-sel yang akan
menjadi kanker.
2) Untuk mengetahui normal atau tidaknya sel-sel di
serviks
3) Untuk mendeteksi perubahan prakanker pada serviks
4) Untuk mendeteksi infeksi-infeksi disebabkan oleh virus
urogenital dan
penyakit-penyakit yang ditularkan melalui hubungan
seksual.

5) Untuk mengetahui dan mendeteksi sel abnormal yang
terdapat hanya
pada lapisan luar dari serviks dan tidak menginvasi bagian
dalam.
6) Untuk mengetahui tingkat berapa keganasan kanker
