DEFINISI

Atrial fibrilasi adalah suatu gangguan pada jantung

(aritmia) yang ditandai dengan ketidakteraturan
irama denyut jantung dan peningkatan frekuensi
denyut jantung, yaitu sebesar 350-650 x/menit. Pada
dasarnya atrial fibrilasi merupakan suatu takikardi
supraventrikuler dengan aktivasi atrial yang tidak
terkoordinasi dan deteriorisasi fungsi mekanik
atrium. Keadaan ini menyebabkan tidak efektifnya
proses mekanik atau pompa darah jantung .
 TANDA DAN GEJALA

Pada dasarnya AF, tidak memberikan tanda dan gejala

yang khas pada perjalanan penyakitnya. Umumnya
gejala dari AF adalah peningkatan denyut jantung,
ketidakteraturan irama jantung dan ketidakstabilan
hemodinamik. Disamping itu, AF juga memberikan
gejala lain yang diakibatkan oleh penurunan
oksigenisasi darah ke jaringan, seperti pusing,
kelemahan, kelelahan, sesak nafas dan nyeri dada.
Tetapi, lebih dari 90% episode dari AF tidak
menimbulkan gejala-gejala tersebut .
