Gelombang Transversal
Gelombang Transversal
Gelombang yang arah gangguannya tegak lurus terhadap arah perambatan. Contohnya adalah perambatan gelombang
tali pada gambar di atas. Gangguan yang kita berikan adalah vertikal (turun-naik) sedangkan penjalarannya berarah
horizontal.

Gelombang cahaya, atau gelombang elektromagnetik pada umumnya merupakan salah satu contoh gelombang
transversal, gelombang permukaan air, gelombang tali adalah contoh lainnya.
Berdasarkan Dasar Gelombang
PERIODE (T)
Adalah waktu yang diperlukan oleh gelombang untuk menempuh satu panjang gelombang. Satuan dari periode
dalam SI adalah detik. Dalam gambar di bawah satu periode adalah waktu dari a ke b.

Frekuensi (f)
• Frekuensi suatu gelombang menunjukan seberapa cepat gelombang bergetar bolak-balik di sekitar titik
setimbangnya. Semakin besar frekuensi gelombang maka semakin cepat dia berosilasi di sekitar titik setimbang.
• Satuan frekuensi adalah Hertz atau detik-1.
• Frekuensi bisa dihitung melalui periodanya melalui hubungan :

• Sebagai contoh perhatikan gelombang berikut ini :
Kecepatan Rambat Gelombang (v)
Cepat rambat gelombang adalah arak yang ditempuh gelombang saat merambat, untuk satuan waktu
tertentu. Ada dua jenis kecepatan gelombang : pertama, kecepatan osilasi yaitu kecepatan gelombang
bolak-balik di sekitar titik setimbang, dan kedua, kecepatan gelombang untuk menjalar, yang disebut
dengan kecepatan rambat gelombang.
