ABSTRAK

Kajian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemahiran penguasaan nombor 6 hingga 9 menggunakan kaedah kad nombor multisensory terhadap empat orang murid bermasalah pembelajaran kelas K4. Hal ini demikian kerana pengkaji mendapati empat orang murid kelas tersebut tidak boleh mengecam dan menulis nombor 6 hingga sembilan dengan betul semasa proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran bagi mata pelajaran Matematik. Tinjauan awal dilakukan melalui pemerhatian berstruktur menggunakan instrumen soal selidik dan ujian diagnostik. Melalui data yang diperolehi pengkaji telah mendapat gambaran keseluruhan terhadap isu yang timbul. Objektif bagi kajian ini ialah murid boleh mengecam nombor yang disebut oleh guru dan menulis nombor yang diminta oleh guru dengan betul. Dalam kajian ini pengkaji telah menjalankan empat sesi intervensi bagi satu kitaran dengan menggunakan kaedah Kad Nombor Multisensori. Data kajian diperolehi melalui ujian pra dan pos, temu bual yang dibuat terhadap guru mata pelajaran Matematik dan senarai semak berdasarkan pemerhatian yang dibuat di akhir setiap intervensi. Hasil dapatan daripada data yang diperolehi, mendapati bahawa kaedah kad Nombor Multisensory dapat membantu murid untuk mieningkatkan kemahiran penguasaan nombor 6 hingga 9 kerana murid telah menunjukan peningkatan dalam kemahiran yang diuji selepas menjalani sesi intervensi. Pengkaji mencadangkan agar kaedah Kad Nombor Multisensory ini diteruskan pada kajian akan datang dengan melakukan penambahbaikan dari segi bahan yang digunakan serta masa pelaksanaan bagi setiap intervensi.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the technique used to help students in learning sets of numbers, from number 6 until number 9 using the Multisensory Number Card (MNC). Four participants from Year 4K were identified as they were having difficulties in recognizing and writing number 6 until number 9 during the teaching and learning in a Mathematics class. Early observations were made using two data gathering strategies in a structured way. First it was the interviews with the participants and followed by a diagnostic test. The data collected gave a whole view towards the problem arose in this particular research. The main objective for this action research is to help students to recognize the number and able to write it during the teaching and learning session. Four interventions were done in 1 cycle using the Multisensory Number Card. The new data came from the pre-test and post-test, interviews with the subject teacher and the observation checklist made at the end of each interventions. The data collected from the observations and interview were analyzed and presented as the findings of the research. Findings revealed that the Multisensory Number Card technique helped students to recognize and write the sets of numbers, number 6 until number 9 as they were able to show improvements after several interventions were made. Researcher believes that the Multisensory Number Card technique should be used in future reseach with little or no adaptation depending on the participants, instruments and time interval for each interventions.
