Siapakah J.C. Van Leur?

C Van
Leur adalah penulis Eropa pada
masa kolonial yang tinggal di
Indonesia dan menulis sejarah
Indonesia. Ia belajar di Universitas
Leidden, Belanda. Ketika di
Indonesia ia bertugas sebagai
controler di Tulungagung, pejabat
Algemeene secretarie di Bogor,
kemudian menjadi perwira
Angkatan Laut Belanda, dan ia
meninggal dalam pertempuran di
Laut Jawa.
