1. OLT : Apa yang dimaksud dengan OLT (Optical Line Terminal)? OLT atau kependekan

dari Optical Line Terminal adalah perangkat keras titik akhir (endpoint) dalam jaringan
optik pasif atau passive optical network (PON).
2. ODN : Konfigurasi jaringan optik atau kadang disebut dengan istilah ODN (Optical Distribution
Network) adalah jaringan optik antara perangkat OLT sampai perangkat ONU/ONT. Komponen
ODN terdiri atas kabel optik dan passive splitter. Level sinyal optik (optical budget) yang
distandarkan adalah 28 sd. 29 dB. Jarak maksimum yang bisa dilayani 20 km dengan aturan
pemecahan jaringan optik (splitting ratio) 1:32, 1:64 dan 1:128 dengan jumlah level splitting
ratio  maksimum 2 level.
3. ONT : ONT adalah perangkat yang berada di rumah pelanggan sebagai interface atau
titik penghubung ke CPE (Customer Premises Equipment). ... Sedangkan ONT sudah
menggunakan teknologi GPON (Gigabit Passive Optical Networks) dan dihubungkan
melalui jaringan distribusi kabel serat optik.
