ABSTRAK
World Health Organization (WHO) mencatat pada tahun 2012 sedikitnya 839 juta kasus hipertensi,
diperkirakan menjadi 1,15 milyar pada tahun 2025 atau sekitar 29% dari total penduduk dunia, dimana
penderitanya lebih banyak pada wanita (30%) dibanding pria (29%). Di Sulawesi Utara prevalensi
hipertensi pada tahun 2013 sebanyak 27%. Penggunaan kontrasepsi pil dapat meningkatkan kejadian
hipertensi. Hal ini terjadi sebab kontrasepsi pil mengandung hormon estrogen dan progesteron yang akan
meningkatkan tekanan darah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis hubungan antara penggunaan
kontrasepsi pil dengan kejadian hipertensi pada wanita usia subur di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Bahu Kota
Manado.
Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian observasional analitik dengan desain case control study. Peneleitian ini
dilaksanakan pada 28 Juni sampai 28 Juli 2014. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh wanita usia
subur (usia 15-49 tahun) di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Bahu yang berjumlah 6.716 orang. Sampel dalam
penelitian ini adalah sebanyak 142 responden dengan 71 responden kasus dan 71 responden kontrol dengan
menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dan matching pada umur dan status gizi. Variabel yang diteliti
adalah penggunaan kontrasepsi pil pada wanita usia subur. Analisis bivariat menggunakan uji chi square
(CI=95%, α=0,05).
Pengguna kontrasepsi pil sebanyak 44 responden (33%). Rata-rata tekanan darah sistolik adalah 121
mmHg dan rata-rata tekanan darah diastolik adalah 85,3 mmHg. Hasil uji statistik penggunaan kontrasepsi
pil dengan kejadian hipertensi, dengan nilai p=0,001 ; OR=3,458 ; (CI(95%)=1,613-7,413).
Terdapat hubungan antara penggunaan kontrasepsi pil dengan kejadian hipertensi pada wanita usia subur
di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Bahu dan pengguna kontrasepsi pil 3,458 kali lebih berisiko menderita
hipertensi.
ABSTRACT
The World Health Organization (WHO) reported that in 2012 at least there were 839 million cases of
hypertension and it is estimated to be 1.15 billion by 2025, or about 29% of the total world population, where
the sufferer more in women (30%) than men (29%). In North Sulawesi, the prevalence of hypertension was
27% in 2013. The use of contraceptive pills can increase the incidence of hypertension. This happens
because the contraceptive pills containing the hormones estrogen and progesterone, which increases blood
pressure. The purpose of this research is to analyse the relationship between the use of contraceptive pills
with the incident of hypertension in women in reproductive age in the work-area of Bahu Community Health
Center, Manado.
This study was an observational analytical study with case-control study design. This study held on June 28
until July 28, 2014. The population in this study is the whole woman in reproductive age (15-49 years) in the
work-area of Bahu Community Health Center were 6.716 people. The sample in this study were 142

was 121 mmHg and an average of diastolic blood pressure is 85,3 mmHg. The bivariate analysis between the
use of contraceptive pills with the incident of hypertension, with p value = 0.001; OR = 3,458; (CI (95%) =
1,613-7,413).
There is a relationship between the use of contraceptive pills with the incident of hypertension in women of
fertile age in the work-area of Bahu Community Health Center and contraceptive pill users 3,458 times more
suffered from hypertension.
Faktor penyebab hipertensi dibedakan atas kontrasepsi mencakup pil kombinasi yang
tidak faktor yang dapat diubah yaitu umut, berisi hormon estrogen dan progesteron, dan
jenis kelamin dan genetik dan faktor yang pil hanya progesteron yang berisi hormon
