 Cardinal Numbers
Cardinal numbers yakni angka yang menyatakan berapa banyak benda, orang, atau hewan
dan makhluk hidup contohnya one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, dan
seterusnya. Namun hati-hati dalam penulisan angka 14 dan 40 dengan huruf. 14 yaitu
“fourteen”, 40 “forty”, alasannya yakni biasanya banyak orang yang salah dalam
membacanya, kadang 40 dibaca “fourty” padahal tanpa abjad “u”. Begitu juga dengan angka
5 “five”, 15 “fifteen”, 55 “fifty five” 105 “a hundred five” dan seterusnya. Kadang banyak
orang yang salah melafalkan angka yang ada angka 5, terutama anak-anak. 

Contoh Cardinal Numbers:

 Ordinal Numbers
Ordinal numbers yakni angka yang memperlihatkan peringkat atau posisi dari benda atau
sesuatu, contohnya first, second, third, fourth fifth, dan seterusnya. Cukup masukkan 'th' pada
bilangan biasa. Kecuali yang berakhiran angka 1 akan berakhiran 'st', angka 2 akan
berakhiran 'nd', angka 3 akan berakhiran 'rd', dan 0 (biasanya pada angka puluhan) akan
berakhiran 'tieth/ieth'. Perhatikan juga bahwa hanya angka terakhir yang dituliskan sebuah
akhiran sebagai ordinal numbers:
421st = four hundred and twenty-first
5,111th = five thousand, one hundred and eleventh

jam 06.48 adalah menitnya kurang 12 (twelve) menuju jam 07.00.

7 D Sudah saya jelaskan tadi ya kalau menit 30 menggunakan past. Nah, khusus untuk menit
30 ini, jangan gunakan thirty tapi gunakan saja a half (setengah.)
