ABSTRACT
Pijorkoling Village is one of the villages in the Southeast Padangsidimpuan District,
Padangsidimpuan, North Sumatra. Pijorkoling Village is divided into 4
neighborhoods with 1,532 families and a population of 7,010 people. The purpose
and benefits of implementing this Community Service Program is to develop student
competencies in applying the knowledge, skills and attitudes that they already have,
so that they are able to design and implement programs that can develop the
potential of the Kelurahan community. In Pijorkoling Sub-District, there are
kelurahan programs that have been achieved, namely the realization of government
assistance through sub-districts that provide basic necessities and rice,
administering vaccines, and electing the Head of the Environment. The program that
is being carried out is activating youth activities and improving public facilities. The
program that has not been achieved is the construction of elementary schools in
remote areas. The potential contained in the Pijorkoling Village is quite a lot, one of
which is the potential of Natural Resources which consists of Rubber Plantations,
Rice Fields, Betel, Palawija, Melon Plantations and Livestock. From this potential,
there is one resource that is identical to the city of Padangsidempuan that has not
been developed, namely snake fruit. Where this fruit after being harvested is
immediately sold so that the selling value is low. In fact, if it is developed and
processed, it can increase the selling value which is higher. In addition to snake
fruit, in the Pijorkoling sub-district there is also betel leaf, where we also plant this
betel leaf at the Life Pharmacy which is one of our work programs. The betel leaf in
this village has not been developed yet, it is rarely used and the selling value is very
low. Even though betel leaf has many benefits if it is managed into a more useful
product and has a higher selling value. From the above problems, we make it in our
work program to take advantage of this potential so that it has a higher selling value
than the raw product. The work program that we have programmed to develop the
above potential is to process snake fruit into candied snake fruit and for betel leaves,
we make antiseptics. The type of activity in this work program is the development of
raw products into products that are more useful and have a higher selling value. The
schedule for processing snake fruit is on August 5, 2021, where in the morning we
cook it and in the afternoon we distribute it in the afternoon. For the processing of
betel leaves, the schedule is on August 12, 2021. On August 12, 2021 we will process
them, starting from taking the betel leaves and washing them to the cooking and
packaging process. On August 13, 2021 we share it. The components involved in our
work program are NNB and KKN 2021 students. The method we use is the
observation method, this observation method aims to find potential in the Kelurahan
that can be developed and how so far that potential has been used. Then we
conducted an experimental method by making a product that could make that
potential more useful and could increase the selling value of the potential that is still
in the form of raw goods. sell it. The results achieved from our work program are
that we have succeeded in developing the potential of the village in the form of betel
leaves and snake fruit into products that are more useful and have a higher selling
value than the raw products. In these two work programs we did not encounter any
obstacles that interfered with our work, but when distributing antiseptics we had a
few problems, namely when distributing antiseptic products to the public there were
obstacles, namely public doubts in using antiseptics because they were not made by
professionals or factories. The solution We explain in detail and detail to the public
that this antiseptic is safe, because it is made from natural ingredients. In addition,
we also asked them to try it firsthand and feel the safety of this product for
themselves so that they would accept and use it. For the sustainability of this
program, we hope that the community will continue it.
