a. Contoh teks
I think smoking rooms should be provided in public places because it will be better for people who don’t
smoke. Smoking really has a bad impact on passive smokers. They don’t smoke and they get sick
because of the smokers. This is really unfair and a detriment to people who don’t smoke.

b. Contoh dialog
Broadcaster: “Good evening. I’ve been very concerned about our education. I’m Tiara Ayu and you’re
listening to “Citizen Speak Out”. Today, I’ll be talking about the education system in the eyes of parents.
To better understand these events, I’ll talk with three students’ parents: Mr. Made Wijaya, Mr. J.
Mr. Made Wijaya: “If you ask me, it’s awful. The system is out of date. It doesn’t help the students
improve their knowledge.”
Broadcaster: “So, what do you think, Mr. J. Sitanggang and Mrs. Diah Sumitro? How do you feel about
it?”
Mr. J. Sitanggang: “Wll, in general, I agree with Mr. Wijaya. But what disturbs me more is that students
tend to memorize without understanding the lessons. The learning method puts students under
pressure. They have to study in school for hours, do a lot of homework, and take private tutoring for the
final examination.”
Mrs. Diah Sumitro: “I suppose so. As far as I’m concerned, the tuition fees here are expensive. It seems
that a good education is for rich people only.”
Mr. Made Wijaya: “In my opninion, the quality of teachers here need to be improved. We’re lacking
qualified ones. This problem I think is due to the government’s ignorance on teacher’s prosperity. As you
can see, not many young people are interested in becoming teachers.”
Mr. J. Sitanggang: “I disagree with that. It’s not that the government doesn’t implement a good system.
It’s because we are lacking the spirit to learn ad compete with other nations.”
