ABSTRAK

Pipeline masih memegang peranan penting dalam sistem transportasi gas alam
dari pihak produsen menuju pihak pengguna atau konsumen. Dalam
pengoperasiannya pipeline akan melewati kondisi geografis yang berubah-rubah
sehingga akan menghasilkan berbagai macam ancaman yang akan menurunkan
integritas pipeline dan akan meningkatkan risiko terjadinya kegagalan pada
pipeline tersebut. Sehingga perlu dilakukan kajian mengenai tingkat risiko suatu
pipeline mengalami kegagalan setelah lama beroperasi
Dalam tugas akhir ini, dilakukan pengkajian risiko semi kuantitatif dengan
metode Muhlbauer. Untuk memudahkan dalam mengetahui penyebab dan akibat
dari suatu kegagalan yang terjadi pada pipeline, maka dalam tugas akhir ini
dilakukan pengembangan studi pemetaan risiko pipa penyalur gas menggunakan
metode bowtie analysis dengan memodifikasi metode Kent Muhlbauer. Selain itu
dilakukan juga penghitungan kekuatan sisa pipeline yang mengalami korosi
dengan menggunakan standar ASME B31G.
Dari 31 segmen pipeline yang dikaji, semuanya masih termasuk ke dalam tingkat
low risk. Nilai risiko tertinggi pada segmen vegetation dengan nilai probability of
failure 231,83 (kategori 3) dan consequence of failure sebesar 84 (kategori A).
Kemudian pemetaan risiko pipa penyalur gas dilakukan dengan menambahkan
inputan dari literatur lainnya yaitu API Recommended Practice 571 mengenai
Damage Mechanisms Affecting Fixed Equipment in the Refining Industry [14], API
Recommended Practice 1102 mengenai Steel Pipeline Crossing Railroads and
Highways[15]. Pada 20 titik yang dilakukan perhitungan kekuatan sisa pipeline
yang terkorosi didapati semua titik masih aman untuk beroperasi karena
maximum allowable operating pressure masih berada di atas operating pressure.
Nilai tertinggi maximum allowable operating pressure berada pada titik ke-12
sebesar 1662 psi berdasarkan perhitungan modifiied ASME B31G, sedangkan
pada titik ke-12 berdasarkan perhitungan original ASME B31G sebesar 1679,7
psi.

ABSTRACT

Pipeline is still very important in the natural gas transportation system from
producers to consumers. During its operation, In its operation the pipeline will
pass through changing geographical conditions so that it will produce various
kinds of threats that will reduce the pipeline integrity and will increase the risk of
failure in the pipeline. So it needs to assess the risk level of the pipeline which will
fail after a long term operation.
In this final project, conducted semiquantiative risk assessment wtih Muhlbauer’s
method. To make it easier to find out the causes and consequences of a failure
that occurred in the pipeline, then in this final project conducted the development
of a risk mapping study of gas pipelines using bowtie analysis method by
modifying Kent Muhlbauer method. In addition, it was also carried out the
calculation of the remaining strength of corroded pipeline using ASME B31G
standard.
From 31 segments which have conducted assessment, all of them are still in the
low risk level. The highest risk value is in the vegetation segment with a
probability of failure value of 231.83 (category 3) and consequence of failure is
84 (category A).
Then the risk mapping of gas pipeline is done by adding datas from the other
literature, such as API Recommended Practice 571 regarding Affecting Damage
Mechanisms Fixed Equipment in the Refining Industry [14]. API Recommended

From 20 points which conducted calculation the remaining strength of corroded
pipeline found that all points are still safe to operate because the maximum
allowable operating pressure is still above the operating pressure. he highest
value maximum allowable operating pressure is at the 12th point of 1662 psi
based on the modifiied calculation of ASME B31G, while at the 12th point based
on the original ASME B31G calculation of 1679.7 psi.
