1. Definition of Finite Verb
Finite Verb is the main verb in the English
sentence.
This type of verb is one that is neither
accompanied by an auxiliary nor changed in
form to the present participle (verb-ing). The
most important thing about this type of verb is
that it is only used in the present tense and the
past tense which, in fact, does not involve the
auxiliary verb at all. The verbs appear in each

1. Penegertian Finite Verb
Finite Verb adalah kata kerja utama dalam
kalimat bahasa Inggris.
Jenis kata kerja ini adalah yang sama sekali
tidak ditemani oleh auxiliary ataupun diubah
bentuknya menjadi present participle (verb-ing).
Hal terpenting mengenai jenis kata kerja ini
adalah hanya digunakan pada bentuk present
tense serta past tense yang notabene sama sekali
tidak melibatkan auxiliary verb. Kata kerja
muncul di setiap kalimat.
 EXAMPLE :

1. My father bought a pack of biscuit. (Ayah saya membeli

satu pak biskuit)
2. The president promises to change Indonesia.
(Sang presiden berjanji untuk mengubah
Indonesia)
3. The truck demolished the restaurant. (Truk tersebut
merubuhkan restoran)
4. The leaves were yellow and sickly. (Dedaunan itu
telah menguning dan tempak layu)
5. She writes every day. (Dia menulis setiap piano
6. David plays the piano. (David bermain piano)
7. My sister speaks French on Holiday. (Kakak
perempuanku berbahasa Prancis setiap hari libur)
 2. Definition of Non-Finite Verb Help
Non-Finite Verb is actually the opposite of Finite Verb. If the Finite
Verb is the main verb in English and cannot be changed using an
auxiliary verb, then the Non-Finite can be converted into a verb
that has the form of a participle, gerund, infinitive, adjective, and
adverb.
(Non-Finite Verb sebetulnya adalah kebalikan dari Finite Verb. Bila
Finite Verb adalah kata kerja utama dalam bahasa Inggris dan tak
dapat diubah dengan menggunakan auxiliary verb, maka Non-Finite
bisa diubah menjadi kata kerja yang berbentuk sebagai participle,
gerund, infinitive, kata sifat, dan kata keterangan.)
