A.Pengertian Congratulation
Congratulation atau ucapan selamat adalah ucapan atau
ungkapan yang diberikan kepada orang yang sedang
mendapatkan atau mengalami sesuatu/mendapat kebahagiaan.

B. Tujuan Congratulation
Tujuan dari mempelajari ucapan selamat (Congratulations)
dalam bahasa Inggris adalah agar kita dapat memberikan
ucapan selamat kepada seseorang dalam berbagai situasi.

C.Fungsi Congratulation
Fungsi congratulation secara sosial adalah untuk membina
hubungan yang baik antara satu orang dengan orang yang
lain.

D.Jenis Jenis Congratulation

Ada beberapa jenis Expression of Congratulation dalam
kehidupan sehari-hari. Berikut ini beberapa Expression of
Congratulation:
 Birthday
 Wedding
 Christmas day
 Eid/ Idul Fitri day
 New Year
 Valentine days
 Anniversary
 Teacher day
 Etc.

E. Ciri Ciri Congratulation

 Kata di awali verb (kata kerja) offer atau send
 Terdapat exclamation mark atau tanda seru (!) di akhir
kalimat
 Diikuti prepositional phrase “on+noun (phrase)/gerund
phrase“
HOPE & WISH

A.Pengertian Hope dan Wish

Hope adalah kosakata yang menunjukkan harapan akan suatu
yang bisa atau sangat mungkin terjadi. Sementara, wish
merupakan kosakata yang menunjukkan harapan atau
keinginan yang mana tidak mudah atau mustahil untuk
diwujudkan.
Wish juga digunakan sebagai ekspresi pengandaian,
mengucapkan keinginan dengan sopan dan juga
mengucapkan doa. Oleh sebab itu kata wish ini sering
diucapkan pada acara ulang tahun, acara pernikahan, dan
acara sakral lainnya.
Jadi perbedaan antara hope dan wish, misalnya adalah Anda
ingin membeli rumah tapi anda belum memiliki tabungan
sama sekali maka pemilihan katanya yang tepat adalah wish.
Sedangkan, jika anda ingin membeli sebuah rumah namun
sudah memiliki tabungan dan kekurangannya tinggal sedikit
maka kalimat yang bisa anda gunakan adalah hope.

B.Fungsi Hope dan Wish

Hope berfungsi untuk menunjukkan suatu harapan yang
mungkin terjadi atau realistis. Sedangkan wish untuk
menyatakan harapan yang tidak atau kurang mungkin terjadi.
