 Definition Procedure Texs

Procedure text adalah salah satu jenis texs yang berfungsi untuk
menginformasikan kepada pembaca tentang langkah-langkah
melakukan sesuatu.

Procedure text is a type of text that functions to inform readers about

the steps to do something.
 Language feature Procedure text
a. This text discusses facts about making something, so
we need to use the Simple Present Tense.
b. Because we need to explain several steps, we have
to use imperative sentences that begin with a verb, for
example: cut the mango, chop the garlic, add, stir, boil,
turn on, etc.
c. When we want to explain the steps for
making/usage, we usually need to combine one
sentence with another sentence. So we need to use the
conjunction Conjunctive/connectives. For example:
first, second, after that, then, finally, last, etc.
d. To provide information about the time or duration
of production, we need to use adverbs. Among them:
Time information: For example: in 5 minutes, for an
hour.
Description of the Adverb of Manner method: For
example: slowly, quickly, powerfully, etc.
a. Teks ini membahas fakta mengenai pembuatan
sesuatu, sehingga kita perlu menggunakan Simple
Present Tense.
b. Karena kita perlu menjelaskan beberapa steps, kita
harus menggunakan kalimat perintah Imperative
sentence yang diawali dengan kata kerja (verb),
Contohnya: cut the mango, chop the garlic, add, stir,
boil, turn on, dsb.
c. ketika ingin menjelaskan langkah-langkah
pembuatatan/penggunaan, biasanya kita perlu
menggabungkan satu kalimat dengan kalimat yang
lain. Jadi kita perlu menggunakan kata penghubung
Conjunctive/connectives. Contohnya: first, second,
after that, then, finally, last, dsb.
d. Untuk memberikan keterangan waktu atau durasi
pembuatan, kita perlu menggunakan kata keterangan
Adverb. Diantaranya:
Keterangan waktu: Contohnya: in 5 minutes, for an
hour.
Keterangan cara Adverb of Manner: Contohnya: slowly,
fastly, powerfully, dsb.
 Structure Procedure Text
a. Aim/Goal
Aim/Goal is located in the title which
shows the purpose of the text.
b. Ingredients/Materials
Ingredients/Materials is useful for
explaining what
just the materials or tools used to make
something in the procedure text.
c. Steps/Methods
Steps/methods, this section contains
the steps taken to achieve the
objectives of the procedure text.
d. Conclusion/Result
Contains the final results of what has
been done according to the steps taken.
a. Aim/Goal
Aim/Goal ini terletak pada judul yang
menunjukkan tujuan dibuatnya text tersebut.
b. Ingredients/Materials
Ingredients/Materials ini berguna untuk
menjelaskan apa
saja bahan-bahan atau alat yang digunakan
untuk membuat sesuatu dalam procedure text
tsb.
c. Steps/Methods
Steps/methods, bagian ini berisi tentang
langkah-langkah apa saja yang dilakukan
untuk mencapai tujuan dari procedure text.
d. Conclusion/Result
Berisi hasil akhir dari apa yang telah
dikerjakan sesuai dengan langkah-langkah
yang dilakukan.
 Contoh Procedure Text
Example #1
How to Make Scrambled Eggs
Ingredients:
 2 eggs
 Milk
 1 teaspoon of butter
 A pinch of salt and water
Steps:
1. First, crack the eggs into a small bowl and add a pinch of salt and pepper.
Whisk until all is well blended.
2. In a frying pan, add butter and let it melt.
3. Pour in the eggs and milk, and wait for around 20 seconds, do not stir it.
4. After that, fold the eggs to the center and stir it with a spatula.
5. Repeat the previous step until all the eggs are mostly cooked.
6. Remove the eggs from the heat, and continue to fold and stir the eggs for
around a minute.
7. Last, lift the eggs, and put them on a serving plate. Your scrambled eggs are
ready.
 Jenis-jenis Procedure Text
1.Simple Procedure Text
Text that contains simple steps which
usually only consist of 2-4 steps to do
it. For example, how to log in.
2. Complex Procedure Text
The text contains many steps in doing
so. For example, how to extend a STNK
3. Procedure Protocol text
Text where each step can be changed
does not have to be sequential, even if
it changes, the end result remains the
same. For example, when boiling and
watering noodles.

Teks yang berisi langkah-langkah
sederhana yang biasanya hanya terdiri
atas 2-4 langkah sajadalam
melakukannya. Contohnya cara login.
2. Teks Procedure Compleks
Teks yang berisi banyak langkah dalam
melakukannya. Contohnya cara
memperpanjang STNK
3. Teks Procedure Protocol
Teks yang setiap langkahnya bisa
diubah tidak harus runut, walaupum
berubah, tetapi hasil akhirnya tetap
sama. Contohnya saat merebus dan
menyiram mie.
