PROCEDURE TEXT (TEKS PROSEDUR)

Pengertian procedure text:

Procedure text adalah teks yang berisikan perintah atau langkah-langkah dalam
mengerjakan sesuatu. Dengan kata lain, procedure text ini dibuat untuk memberi
gambaran bagaimana sesuatu dilakukan melalui langkah yang berurut
Judul procedure text sangat mudah dikenali. Biasanya diawali dengan kata “How
to…”. Misalnya, “How to make a fried rice” (Cara membuat sebuah nasi goreng),
“How to play chess well” (Cara bermain catur dengan baik), dan masih banyak
yang lainnya.

Ciri-ciri procedure text:

1. Menggunakan simple present tense
2. Menggunakan imperative sentence (kalimat perintah)
Contoh: add two spoons, cook with low heat, blend the spices, dsb.
3. Menggunakan action verbs
Contoh: add, put, turn, dsb.
4. Menggunakan numbering
Contoh: first, second, third, dsb.
5. Menggunakan adverb (kata keterangan)
Contoh: correctly, carefully, slowly, for 2 minutes, dsb.
6. Menggunakan conjunction (kata hubung)
Contoh: next, then, while, dsb.

Jenis-jenis procedure text:

1. Procedure text yang memaparkan cara mengoperasikan/menggunakan sesuatu.
Contoh: “How to use camera”.
2. Procedure text yang memberikan instruksi dalam melakukan kegiatan tertentu.
Contoh: “How to play guitar”, “How to make a brownies”.
3. Procedure text yang yang berkaitan dengan tips-tips menjalani hidup. Contoh:
“How to be succesful in life”
Struktur Procedure Text:
1. Goal/Aim : berisikan maksud dan tujuan dari procedure text terkait.
2. Materials : berisikan bahan-bahan yang diperlukan untuk melakukan tahapan
suatu procedure text. Selain kata materials, kamu juga bisa menggunakan kata
ingredients.
3. Steps : daftar langkah yang berurutan untuk menyelesaikan tahapan procedure
text. Untuk menunjukkan steps, umumnya menggunakan angka atau kata-kata
seperti, first, second, finally, dll
4. Result : hasil dari proses atau langkah-langkah yang telah dilakukan.

Contoh procedure text:

HOW TO MAKE FRIED RICE
Fried Rice is a food that super easy to make. However, this food has become one
of the world’s favorite foods because it tastes so delicious. So, this time we will
make fried rice. Let’s prepare the ingredients and follow the steps below.
Ingredients:
 Rice
 Egg
 Chili
 5 Red onions
 3 Garlics
 Oil
 Soy sauce
 Chili sauce
 Salt
 Flavoring
How to Make:
First, grind the spices like chilis, red onions, and garlics.
Second, let’s prepare the rice.
Third, after that spices are ground and rice is ready, heat the frying pan. Add the
oil around 2 spoons, wait until hot.
Fourth, after the oil is hot, add the spices, salt, and flavoring. Cook until the smell
is good, add the chili sauce, and then add the egg while stirring.
Fifth, after the egg are cooked, add the rice. Stir the rice until the spices are
evenly distributed.
Last, add the soy sauce, keep stirring until 10 minutes.
Now, the deliciuous fried rice can be eaten.
