 Pengertian Lansia

Lansia adalah seseorang yang telah mencapai usia

60 tahun ke atas. Menua bukanlah suatu penyakit,
tetapi merupakan proses yang berangsur-angsur
mengakibatkan perubahan kumulatif, merupakan
proses menurunnya daya tahan tubuh dalam
menghadapi rangsangan dari dalam dan luar
tubuh, seperti didalam Undang-Undang No 13
tahun 1998 yang isinya menyatakan bahwa
pelaksanaan pembangunan nasional yang

menjelaskan mengapa lansia bertindak pada

mungkin. Padahal secara alamiah mereka
akan mengalami penurunan jumlah kekuatan
secara langsung.

3) Teori kepribadian berlanjut (continuity theory)
Teori ini menjelaskan bahwa perubahan yang terjadi pada seorang lansia sangat
dipengaruhi oleh tipe personalitas yang dimilikinya (Nugroho, 2006). Menurutnya,
ada kesinambungan dalam siklus kehidupan lansia, dimana dimungkinkan
pengalaman hidup seseorang pada suatu saat merupakan gambarannya kelak
pada saat ia menjadi lansia.

4) Teori pembebasan atau penarikan diri (disangagement

Teori yang pertama kali diajukan oleh Cumming dan Hendri (1961) dikutip
Ratnawati ini menjelaskan bahwa dengan bertambah lanjutnya usia, seseorang
berangsur-angsur mulai akan melepaskan diri dari kehidupan sosialnya atau
menarik diri dari pergaulan sekitarnya

kesehatan jiwa lainnya misalnya cemas, depresi, pikun dsb.

3) Perubahan Aspek Psikososial
Pada umumnya setelah orang
memasuki lansia maka ia mengalami
penurunan fungsi kognitif dan
psikomotor. Fungsi kognitif meliputi
proses belajar, persepsi,
pemahaman, pengertian, perhatian
dan lain-lain sehingga menyebabkan
reaksi dan perilaku lansia menjadi
makin lambat. Sementara fungsi
psikomotorik (konatif) meliputi hal-hal
yang berhubungan dengan dorongan
kehendak seperti gerakan, tindakan,
koordinasi, yang berakibat bahwa
lansia menjadi kurang cekatan.

Meskipun tujuan ideal pensiun adalah agar para lansia dapat

kenyataannya sering diartikan sebaliknya, karena pensiun sering
diartikan sebagai kehilangan penghasilan, kedudukan, jabatan,
peran, kegiatan, status dan harga diri.
5) Perubahan Dalam Peran Sosial Di Masyarakat
Akibat berkurangnya fungsi indera pendengaran,
penglihatan, gerak fisik dan sebagainya maka muncul gangguan
fungsional atau bahkan kecacatan pada lansia. Misalnya
badannya menjadi bungkuk, pendengaran sangat berkurang,
penglihatan kabur dan sebagainya sehingga sering menimbulkan
keterasingan..
