Jumlah kendaraan yang semakin hari semakin meningkat sangat berpengaruh pada para pengguna jalan dan salah
satunya adalah pada kenyamanan dan keselamatan para pejalan kaki, para pejalan kaki akan menjadi sangat kesulitan
untuk menyeberang pada ruas jalan yang sangat padat. Salah satu cara untuk mengatasi hal tersebut adalah dengan
membangunan persimpangan yang tak sebidang dalam hal ini adalah terowongan. Pada Tulisan Ilmiah ini yang akan
dibahas adalah perencanaan teknis dan metode pelaksanaan yang tepat yang akan digunakan untuk membangun
terowongan tersebut, dimana lokasi dari terowongan tersebut adalah di JL. Basuki Rahmat yang merupakan jalan arteri
primer dan mempunyai volume lalu lintas
yang sangat padat. Metode perencanaan menggunakan program bantu SAP 2000 versi 9 dan Plaxis 2D. Metode
pelaksanaan yang akan dibahas dalam penulisan ilmiah ini adalah metode cut and
cover dan metode shield tunneling. Kedalaman dasar terowongan yang dicapai dengan menggunakan metode cut and
cover adalah 4,2 m dan membutuhkan biaya Rp.4.074.059.071, sedangkan dengan menggunakan metode Shield Tunnel kedalaman
dasar terowongan adalah -6,4 m dan membutuhkan biaya Rp.4.188.114.156.

Increasing of vehicles has great influences for pedestrian convenient and safety. The pedestrian will have some problems
in crossing the crowded street. Thats why the pedestrian tunnel will be needed by those people to cross the street.
This book discribing the engineering design and contruction method that will be used for build the pedestrian tunnel
especially at Basuki Rahmat street Surabaya which have high density of traffic. SAP 2000 and Plaxis 2D will be used
for designing this pedestrian tunnel. The construction method that will be described is cut and cover method and also
shield tunneling method especially pipe jacking method. The deep of tunnel that can be reach with cut and cover method
is -4,2 m and the cost is Rp Rp.4.074.059.071, but when use shield tunnel method the deep is -6,4mand the cost is
Rp.4.188.114.156.
