Latar Belakang: Budaya sangat berperan dalam status gizi ibu seperti pantang mengonsumsi makanan tertentu yang sebenarnya makanan tersebut dibutuhkan oleh ibu. Status gizi merupakan salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi kehamilan. Banyak wanita yang tidak mengetahui manfaat zat gizi bagi kehamilan. Masyarakat masih percaya adanya hubungan antara makanan tertentu dengan kesehatan ibu hamil serta bayi yang dikandungnya. Hal inilah yang menjadikan tugas tenaga kesehatan untuk mengedukasi ibu hamil salah satnya dengan kelas ibu hamil. Metode: Penelitian ini bersifat kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi difokuskan pada pengaruh kelas ibu hamil terhadap mitos pantang makan. Penarikan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Pengambilan data menggunakan teknik Focus Group Interview (FGI) dan kuesioner sebagai pendukung wawancara. Penelitian ini memilih 18 responden kelas ibu hamil yang tinggal di Desa Sambirejo, Desa Wonorejo, dan Desa Regaloh, Kecamatan Tlogowungu Kabupaten Pati pada bulan Maret 2018. Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kelas ibu hamil mempengaruhi ibu hamil terhadap pengetahuan serta sikap tentang adanya mitos pantang makan yang sebelumnya ibu hamil ketahui. Simpulan: Kelas ibu hamil berpengaruh terhadap pengetahuan ibu hamil di Kecamatan Tlogowungu Kabupaten Pati, pengaruh tersebut mengenai persepsi mereka terhadap mitos-mitos pantang makan selama kehamilan, ibu hamil yang semula tidak mengerti buruknya perilaku pantang makan sekarang menjadi mengerti dan menghindari perilaku tersebut. Pregnancy Class with Eating Taboo Myths in Tlogowungu District, Pati Regency. Essay. Faculty of Medicine, Sebelas Maret University, Surakarta. Background: Culture plays an important role in maternal nutritional status because there are several beliefs, such as abstinence from eating certain foods which are actually needed by the mother. Nutritional status is one of the factors that affect pregnancy. Many women do not know the benefits of nutrients for pregnancy. Society still believe there is a correlation between certain food with healthy pregnancy and the baby. That is the mission of health workers to give the education to pregnant women by pregnancy class. Methods: This was qualitative study with a phenomenological approach focused on the perspective of the pregnancy class with eating taboo myths. Sampling in this study used purposive sampling technique. Data retrieval used Focus Group Interview (FGI) technique and the questionnaire as a proponent of debriefing. This study chose 18 respondents of pregnancy class that lived in Sambirejo village, Wonorejo Village and Regaloh village, Tlogowungu District, Pati Regency in March 2018. Results: The results of the study showed that the pregnancy class affecting to respondents based on the knowledge and attitudes about the eating taboo myth had been known yet by pregnant woman. Conclusion: The pregnancy class influences the knowledge of pregnant women in Tlogowungu District, Pati Regency, the influence of their perceptions of the myths of abstinence during pregnancy, pregnant women who initially did not understand the poor eating habits now become aware and avoid these behaviors.
