ABSTRACT
The elderly are synonymous with various declines in health status especially
physical health status. Physical activity in the elderly is a variety of physical
activities that can be done / can not be done by older people, such as running,
jumping, walking, exercising, and so on. The health status of the elderly that
decreases as physical activity decreases will affect the quality of life. The quality of
life of the elderly is a terminology that shows about the physical, social and
emotional health of the elderly as well as its ability to carry out daily tasks. The
purpose of this study is to find out if there is a relationship of physical activity to the
quality of life in the elderly. The research method uses observational methods with a
cross sectional approach. The subjects of the study is elderly in Posyandu Lansia
Seyegan, Sleman with a total of 45 respondents. Data retrieval techniques using
questionnaires. The results of the study with the Spearman Rank test found the value
of physical activity and quality of life is p=0.000 (p< 0.05) meaning there is a
relationship of physical activity to the quality of life in the elderly.
