Personal Letter

Personal letter is a type of letter written to the closest people, such as friends, parents, or relatives.
Well, this type of letter is not only written to provide information but also to strengthen brotherly
relations between people with one another (Personal letter merupakan jenis surat yang ditulis kepada
orang–orang terdekat, misalnya teman, orang tua, atau saudara. Nah, jenis surat ini tidak hanya ditulis
untuk memberi informasi namun juga untuk mempererat hubungan persaudaraan antara orang satu
dengan yang lain.)

Ciri Kebahasaan Surat Pribadi

Jika kamu ingin membuat surat pribadi, maka ada ciri kebahasaan yang harus kamu tahu. Diantaranya
sebagai berikut:

 Accuracy of grammar is important (Keakuratan grammar)

 Complete sentences are expected (kalimat lengkap diutamakan)
 Slang can be used (Bahasa slang bisa digunakan)
 Use the contractions such as I’ll, I’m, we’ll (menggunakan singkatan, seperti I’ll, I’m)
 Use personal pronouns such as you (menggunakan kata ganti kamu)
 Use active voice (menggunakan kalimat aktif)

Selain ciri kebahasaan di atas, dalam kalimat pribadi juga ada gaya surat yang perlu kamu tahu dan
diantaranya ialah sebagai berikut:

 Language use may be personal like first and second person pronouns (menggunakan bahasa
personal, baik kata ganti pertama maupun kedua)
 Be warm (bahasanya hangat)
 Use the person’s name you are writing to (menggunakan nama orang yang dituju)
 Very sentence length (panjang kalimat bervariasi)
 Write in a natural, conversational style (bahasa natural, dengan bahasa lisan)
 Let your personality shine through in your writing (biar kepribadianmu muncul melalui
tulisanmu)

 Salutations (sapaan)

Sapaan ini tergantung dengan seberapa dekat kamu dengan orang yang kamu kirim surat
