 GREETINGS
Greeting : How are you doing?
Answer : - fine, thank you.
- I’m good, thanks. How about you?
- I’ve been busy studying. What about you?
Greeting : How do you do?
Answer : -I’m doing well, thank you.

 EXAMPLE :
Greeting : Good morning Iqoh, how are you doing?

 SELF-INTRODUCTION
Below are some examples you can use to introduce yourself.
Contoh pertanyaan ketika anda diminta untuk memperkenalkan diri:
-Please tell me about yourself.
(ceritakan tentang diri anda.)
-Can you tell me about yourself?
(silahkan memperkenalkan diri.)
-Please describe yourself.
(Deskripsikan diri anda.)

 POLITE EXPRESSIONS
1. Politeness atau kesopanan itu adalah strategi berbicara yang digunakan tergantung
kepada siapa lawan bicara anda.
2. Cara anda berbicara tentu akan berbeda saat berhadapan dengan guru/orangtua/orang
lain (formal) dan teman/keluarga (cenderung informal).
3. Dalam Bahasa inggris, anda dapat berbicara lebih sopan dengan menggunakan kata
sapaan yang tepat serta menambahkan kata-kata seperti excuse me, pardon, dan
terutama please.

 Grammar Focus: Making Polite Request using Modal can/may/would like


Polite request dibuat menggunakan modal auxiliary:
o Can/could
o May
o Would like

Polite request digunakan untuk:


o making request (meminta seseorang melakukan sesuatu)
o asking permission (meminta izin.)

lebih baik lagi apabila diselipkan kata-kata berikut:


o Excuse me
o Pardon
o Please

• S + to be (am/is/are) + O -> You are tall.
