The Forbidden City was the Chinese imperial palace from the Ming dynasty to the end of the
Qing dynasty. It is located in the centre of Beijing, China, and now houses the Palace Museum.
Constructed from 1406 to 1420, the complex consists of 980 buildings and covers 72 ha. The palace
complex shows traditional Chinese luxurious architecture.
The Forbidden City is a rectangle, with 961 metres from north to south and 753 metres from
east to west. It consists of 980 surviving buildings with 8,886 bays of rooms. A common myth states
that there are 9,999 rooms including halls, based on oral tradition, and it is not supported by survey
evidence.
Since 1925, the Forbidden City has been under the charge of the Palace Museum, whose
extensive collection of artwork and artifacts were built upon the imperial collections of the Ming and
Qing dynasties. Part of the museum's former collection is now located in the National Palace
Museum in Taipei. Both museums descend from the same institution, but were split after the
Chinese Civil War. With over 14.6 million annual visitors, the Palace Museum is the most visited art
museum in the world.

It was about 3.30 in the afternoon. Mr. Tugiyo had just come back from the forest after
collecting some firewood. Before it got dark, he went back home to take a bath and get some rest.
Nothing was suspicious when he entered his house yard. However, just as he went into his
house, there was a tiger, standing still in his living room. It was glaring at him. He stunned by the
horror he found, He saw his wife, shocked, in front of the bedroom door. Her face as white as paper.
He knew his family was also in danger.
Mr Tugiyo took several steps back. He gave a sign to his wife to enter and lock the bedroom.
After he was sure that his wife was safe, he went out of his house and locked the front door. Then,
he screamed help from the neighbours. One of his neighbours called the police. Later some
policemen and officers from the zoo arrived and caught the tiger.
Finally, the tiger was brought to the nearest zoo safely. The officers said that the tiger was
searching for food and it came from the nearby forest.
Yesterday was a holiday. My friends and I had an appointment to go cycling at our favorite
park. In the park there are paths for cyclists. We agreed to meet at the park at 9 a.m
Before I met my friends, my mother asked me to accompany her to the market. She said that
she would buy some vegetables and fruits. We went to the market around 6 a.m. It took about an
hour to buy all our needs.
We arrived home from the market at 7:15 a.m. I was very hungry. I had porridge which I had
bought for my breakfast. After I finished my breakfast, I immediately had a bath and prepared for
the appointment.
I left for the park at 8:40 a.m. The park is only five minutes from my house. My friends had
not arrived yet, so I had to wait for a few minutes. Not long after, all of my friends arrived.
We felt relaxed and happy when cycling. We really enjoyed the beautiful morning at the park.

Last vacation, I decided to visit the Dani tribe in Baliem Valley to do a little adventure.
First, I stopped at Muliama village, which was about 20 kilometres from Wamena to enjoy the
Baliem Cultural Festival. It was held for several days. People of the Dani were singing, dancing and
playing their traditional music in the festival, they painted their faces with pig grease, clay ash and
fur. They held their bows, arrows and spears to act as if they were attacking each other. However,
no blood was shed. It was all intended only as a threatening show of force.
When the festival ended, I chose to join a trekking trip to the spectacular villages of the Dani.
The trip gave me an opportunity to see the real lifestyle of the Dani people. I saw great wooden
bridges across the fast-flowing mountain rivers. I also learnt that men and women did not live in one
traditional house. Another amazing thing that I learnt was that people missing fingers were a result
of a custom whereby both men and women might cut off their fingers if they were left by the loved
one.
My eight-day trip to Baliem Valley gave me a remarkable impression of how rich Indonesia's
culture is.

Luis Lionel Andres Messi, born June 24th, 1987, is an Argentinian football player for F.C
Barcelona. He is not very tall, mainly, due to the growing problem he had when he was younger. His
eyes are brown.
Lionel Messi started playing football at a very early age in his hometown’s Newell’s Old
Boys. From the age of 11, he suffered from a hormone deficiency and as Lionel’s parents were
unable to pay for the treatment in Argentina, they decided to move to Barcelona, Spain.
In the 2003-2004 season, when he was still only 16 years old, Messi made his first team debut
in a friendly with Porto that marked the opening of the new Dragao stadium. The following
championship-winning season, Messi made his first appearance in an official match on October
16th, 2004, in Barcelona’s derby win against Espanyol at the Olympic Stadium 0-1. He became the
best player in the world in 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012.
My Holiday in Australia
Last Sunday, I had holiday in Australia. I visited a marine park called Sea World, which is at
surfers’ paradise near Brisbane. It’s Australia’s largest Marine Park. Truly I had a wonderful day
there.
The first thing I saw was the Oceanarium. It is a place where visitors can watch all kinds of fish
and animal underwater. There were huge turtles, sharks and beautiful tropical fish. The most
exciting thing was watching a man feeding the shark. He wore a special diving suit.
Then, I watched the performing animals. The show was in a big outdoor swimming pool. There
were killer whales, dolphins and sea lions, and they did all kinds fantastic things in the water. One
of the girls in the show rode about the pool on the back of a big turtle. After the show, I had lunch.
There were several big restaurants that were shaped like a ship. Then, I watched a wonderful water
sky show which was held on a lake.
There were lots of things to do at the park. There was lake cruising, a train ride, a big water
slide, swimming pools and an incredible roller coaster called the corkscrew because it goes through
three loops upside down. But I didn’t go on the roller coaster. I wish I could do it next time.
