Keluarnya darah dan serpihan endometrium dari rahim melalui

vagina sebagai hasil Interaksi yang dinamis dari komponen poros
reproduksi pada perempuan dewasa, sebagai manifestasi proses
reproduksi yang berlangsung secara periodik dan siklik dengan
urutan proses yang sekuensial dari sekresi hormon dan
perubahan morfologi organ reproduksi dengan tujuan
tersedianya ovum matang yang siap dibuahi serta
endometrium yang siap untuk terjadinya nidasi
(Michel Ferin dkk, The Menstrual Cycle, 1993)

• The basic system comprises four categories that are defined
by visually objective structural criteria

• PALM: Polyp, Adenomyosis, Leiomyoma, and Malignancy or

hyperplasia);

• COEI that are unrelated to structural anomalies; and one (N)

reserved for entities that are not yet classified.

• The leiomyoma category (L) is subdivided into those patients

who have at least one submucosal myoma (Lsm) and those
with myomas that do not impact the endometrial cavity (Lo).
