ABSTRACT
Infection at the operating site is one of the main complications of surgery that can
increase morbidity, mortality and patient care costs in hospital. WHO survey shows
that Surgical site infection (Surgicalsite infection) is an infection that occurs due to
bacterial contamination in the operating wound. Surgical wound infection has
become a common compilation of surgical procedures and ranks first in the
Hospital. Data from the World Health Organization (WHO) (2011) reports that the
incidence of surgical wound infections in the world ranges from 5% - 34%. Surgical
wound infection in the United Kingdom has an incidence of surgical wound
infection of around 10%. This study uses a descriptive type of correlation coefficient
with research results. Respondents by Age Of the 60 respondents the most number
is at middle age (66-79 years). Based on Gender Of the 60 respondents the most
number is female patients and the smallest number is male patients. It is possible
that male immune system is stronger than female endurance. Of the 60 respondents
treated in the Surgery Room, there were 33 hypoalbumin patients (55%) and 27
non-hypoalbumin patients (45%). Of the 60 respondents treated in the Surgery
room there were 53 patients with elective surgery (88.3%) and 7 patients with
emergency surgery (11.7%). Based on table 5.4 it can be seen that of the 60
respondents treated in the Surgery room there were 24 wound infection patients
Laparatomy surgery (40.0%) and 36 patients not infected with Laparatomy surgery
wound (60.0%).
