untuk meringkaskan (summarize) data seperti mencari rata-rata, nilai
maximum dan minimun, standard deviasi, range dan yang sejenisnya.
Misalkan kita mempunyai data yang disadur dari Malhotra, 1999,
halaman 565 (Malhotra,1999) (atau file MP565.sav atau 04_
discriminant_p583 pada Malhotra, edisi 2004) sbb :

hubungan antara Dependent variabel (penjualan) dengan
independent yg ber kategori (1) tingkat promosi rendah,
sedang dan tinggi, dan (2) independent variabel pemberian

untuk membedakan adalah :
