Rumus Simple Present Tense

Sebetulnya terdapat dua rumus Simple present, yakni rumus simple present dalam bentuk verbal
dan nominal. Namun biasanya di sekolah- sekolah umum atau pembelajaran- pembelajaran
grammar dasar mereka hanya membahas SPT dalam bentuk verbal saja.

Rumus Simple Present Tense (Verbal)

Kalimat Positif (+) Subjek + Verb 1 (s/es) + Objek

Kalimat Negatif (-) Subjek + Do / Does + not + Verb 1 + Objek

Kalimat Pertanyaan (?) Do / Does + Subjek + Verb 1 + Objek ?

Keterangan:

 Penggunaan akhiran s/es hanya untuk subjek berupa He, She, It .

 Akhiran s/es pada kata kata kerja tidak berlaku untuk subjek I, you, we, they dan sejenisnya.

 Penambahan s/es hanya untuk kalimat positif (+).

 Do berpasangan dengan I, you, we, they .

 Does berpasangan dengan He, She, it

 Perhatikan dengan seksama contoh- contoh dalam tabel dibagian selanjutnya.

Berikut ini adalah beberapa contoh dalam bentuk tabel dari simple present tense. baik itu dalam
kalimat positif (affirmative), negatif (negative) maupun pertanyaan (Interrogative) yang kami sadur
dari lama English first (EF).

Positif (+) Negatif (-) Pertanyaan (?)

I think I do not think Do i think?

You think You do not think Do you think?

We think We do not think. Do we think?

It thinks It does not think Does it think?

Dan berikut ini adalah contoh kalimat simple present tense yang kami tuliskan dalam kalimat bahasa
Inggris dan sebagian terjemahannya.

Contoh Simple Present Dalam Kalimat Positif 

1. I live in a small town (Saya tinggal di sebuah kota kecil)

2. You speak English fluently (Kamu berbicara bahasa Inggris dengan lancar)

 3. We eat three times a day (Kita makan 3 kali sehari)

4. They study english twice a week (Mereka belajar bahasa Inggris dua kali seminggu)

5. He speaks Japanese  (Dia berbicara bahasa Jepang)

6. She goes to office everyday (Dia pergi ke kantor setiap hari)

7. It works .

Contoh Simple Present Dalam Kalimat Negatif

1. I do not (don’t) live in small town 

2. You do not speak English fluently.

3. We do not eat three times a day.

4. They do not study English twice a week

5. He does not (doesn’t) speak Japanese

6. She does not go to office everyday

7. It does not work .

* Penulisan do not bisa disingkat menjadi don’t, dan does not menjadi doesn’t .
