Hasil positif mengindikasikan :

- Terdeteksi asam nukleat (RNA) SARS CoV-2, korelasi klinis dengan riwayat pasien dan
informasi diagnostik lainya diperlukan untuk menentukan status infeksi pasien
- Asam nukleat (RNA) virus tetap terdeteksi walaupun tidak ditemukan virus yang viabel

Hasil negatif mengindikasikan :

- Tidak terdeteksi pada gen target dapat disebabkan karena :

1. Konsentrasi asam nukleat mendekati atau dibawah batas deteksi
2. Adanya mutasi pada daerah gen target
- Hasil tidak terdeteksi pada pemeriksaan RT-PCR I tidak menyingkirkan adanya dugaan
infeksi SARS CoV 2, disarankan untuk pemeriksaan RT-PCR II.
- Hasil tidak terdeteksi pada pemeriksaan RT-PCR I dan atau II, tidak menyingkirkan
adanya dugaan infeksi SARS CoV 2, korelasi klinis dan pemeriksaan penunjang lain
harus dipertimbangkan dalam penegakan diagnosis Sars cov2
- Hasil tidak terdeteksi dapat disebabkan adanya inhibitor dalam spesimen
pasien/konsentrasi asam nukleat virus dibawah batas deteksi pengujian
- Hasil tidak terdeteksi juga dapat dipengaruhi oleh kualitas spesimen yang tidak
adekuat

Catatan:
1. Nilai Cycle Threshold (CT) digunakan dalam menentukan terdeteksi atau tidaknya gen
target dengan cut off sesuai dengan reagen dan alat yang digunakan.
2. Nilai CT tidak dapat dibandingkan antar reagen maupun alat dan interpretasi serta
pemanfaatan membutuhkan keahlian klinisi

Limitations:
Positive result indicates:
- Detected SARS CoV-2 nucleic acid (RNA), clinical correlation with patient history and
Other diagnostic information is needed to determine the patient's infection status
- Viral nucleic acid (RNA) is still detected even though there is no viable virus found

Negative result indicates:

- Undetectability in the target gene can be caused by:
1. The concentration of nucleic acids is near or below the detection limit
2. The presence of mutations in the target gene area
- Undetectable results on 1st RT-PCR do not rule out the suggestion of SARS CoV-2
infection. The second RT-PCT is advised. Undetectable result on 1st and 2nd RT-PCR do
not rule out the suggestion of SARS CoV-2, the clinical feature and other supporting test
have to be considered in sars CoV-2 diagnosis.
- Undetectable results could be due to the presence of an inhibitor in the specimen
patient/ viral nucleic acid concentrations below the test detection limit
- Undetectable results can also be affected by inadequate specimen quality

Note:
1. Cycle threshold (CT) value used to determine detected target gene, with cut off value
according to the reagent and equipment used
2. CT value cannot be compared through various reagent and equipment. Its
interpretation and usage needs clinician expertise
