 LATAR BELAKANG
Perawatan kateter urine sangat penting dilakukan pada
klien dengan tujuan untuk mengurangi dampak negative dari
pemasangan kateterisasi urine seperti infeksi dan radang
pada saluran kemih. Dampak lain yang menganggu pemenuhan
kebutuhan dasar manusia perawatan yang dilakukan meliputi
menjaga kebersihan kateter dan alat vital kelamin, menjaga
kantong penampung urine dengan tidak meletakkan lebih
tinggi dari buli-buli dan agar tidak terjadi aliran balik urine
ke buli-buli dan tidak sering menimbulkan slauran
penampung, karena mempermudah masuknya kuman serta
mengganti kateter dalam jangka waktu 7-12 hari.
 Perawatan Kateter
Katerisasi urine adalah tindakan memasukkan alat
berupa selang karet atau plastik melalui uretra ke
dalam kandung kemih untuk mengeluarkan urine

Perawatan kateter urine adalah perawatan yang

dilakukan menggunakan teknik aseptik dengan
membersihkan permukaan kateter urine dan daerah
sekitarnya agar bersih dari kotoran, smegma, dan
krusta yang terbentuk dari garam urine.

Tindakan asepsis(mengurangi resiko infeksi) ketat

diperlukan saat memasang kateter kateter dan
perawatan kateter.
Menurut Kozier 1. Kateter plastik
(2010), digunakan sementara karena mudah rusak dan tidak
fleksibel.

berdasarkan digunakan untuk penggunaan/pemakaian dalam jangka
waktu singkat (kurang dari 2 atau 3 minggu).

Tujuan Kateter Indwelling

Tujuan perawatan kateter menurut Temple

& Johnson (2010) diantaranya yaitu:

• Mengurangi kontaminasi bakteri di kandung

kemih dan mengurangi infeksi saluran
perkemihan.
• Mempertahankan integritas kulit.

1. Retensi atau obstruksi urine.

2. Pengukuran input dan output cairan yang akurat
pada pasien yang tidak dapat menggunakan urineal
atau bedpan
3. Emergensi bedah
4. Trauma mayor
5. Prosedur urologi
6. Irigasi bladder
7. Manajemen pressure ulcer derajat III atau lebih
8. Perawatan yang nyaman pada pasien terminal
 Menurut Kozier, (2010) menyebutkan kontraindikasi
Kontra pemasangan kateter urine yaitu adanya penyakit infeksi di
dalam vulva seperti uretritis gonorhoe dan perdarahan
Indikasi pada uretra
Resiko Kateter Urine
 Infeksi yang berhubungan dengan kateter urine meliputi:
1. Infeksi saluran kemih
2. Bakteremia sekunder / sepsis
3. Pielonefritis akut
4. Akhir sequellae onset, misalnya osteomyelitis metastasis dan meningitis

Hasil yang merugikan terkait dengan kateter urine meliputi :

1. Bakteremia sekunder / sepsis
2. Peningkatan mortalitas
3. Akhir sequellae onset, misalnya osteomyelitis metastasis dan meningitis
4. Seleksi untuk organisme resisten (MDROs)
5. Striktur uretra, prostatitis dan orchitis
6. Reservoir untuk MDROs
