BIODATA HENRY FAYOL
KELAHIRAN
Henri Fayol lahir di Istambul, Turki , 29 July 1841. Beliau meninggal dunia di
Paris, Perancis, 19 November 1925. Ia adalah seorang ininyur
pertambangan lulusan Perancis, seorang direktur pertambangan, sekaligus
seorang pakar manajemen. Ia dengan originalitasnya mampu menciptakan
teori-teori manajemen secara ilmiah, yang disebut Teori Umum Administrasi
Bisnis, yang kemudian dijuluki Fayolisme. Ia adalah salah satu kontributor
penting untuk teori-teori manajemen yang berkembang selanjutnya.

SIAPAKAH DIA

Henri Fayol, seorang insinyur Perancis dan direktur tambang, lahir di

pinggiran kota Istanbul pada tahun 1841, di mana ayahnya, seorang
insinyur, ditunjuk Inspektur Pekerjaan untuk membangun sebuah jembatan
di atas Golden Horn. Mereka kembali ke Prancis pada tahun 1847. Fayol
belajar di sekolah pertambangan “Ecole Nationale Superieure des Mines” di
St Etienne.
BIODATA HENRY FAYOL
KARIR PROFESIONAL
Saat beranjak 19 tahun, Fayol sudah menempuh karir tekniknya dengan
bekerja di sebuah perusahaan pertambangan “Compagnie de Commentry-
Fourchambeau-Decazeville” di Commentry. Pada tahun 1888 dia dipercaya
menduduki jabatan direktur perusahaan itu karena karirnya yang cemerlang.
Saat itu pegawai perusahaan tersebut mencapai lebih dari 1000 orang.
Karena kepiawaiannya Fayol tak tergeserkan sebagai direktur selama 30
tahun hingga 1918.

PENGALAMAN PROFESIONAL
1.seorang insinyur yang komprehensif, ilmuwan dan manajer, yang baik
seorang praktisi dan sebuah teori,
2.pelopor visioner organisasi industri,
3.pemimpin pengusaha dan humanis, menempatkan manusia di jantung

Fayol juga memberikan tiga sumbangan besar bagi pemikiran administrasi

dan manajemen yaitu:

3.Prinsip-prinsip administrasi dan manajemen.
Fayol juga merumuskan fungsi-fungsi administrasi atau fungsi-fungsi
manajemen
