Apa itu kesukarelaan?

Kesukarelaan (tidak pamrih) merupakan sebuah rasa terkait

dengan Kemanusiaan. Untuk menyatakan bahwa seseorang
“memiliki rasa amal terhadap orang lain” atau “ikut menderita
bersama mereka” (dua definsi yang dapat diberikan pada
prinsip Kemanusiaan) tidaklah sesuai dengan sikap
perhitungan dan mementingkan diri sendiri. Sifat tidak pamrih
dengan demikian merupakan satu aspek dari prinsip ini.
 Prinsip Kesukarelaan Dalam PMI

“Gerakan ini adalah gerakan pemberi bantuan sukarela, yang tidak didasari oleh
keinginan untuk mencari keuntungan apa pun.”
Kesukarelaan adalah proposal yang sangat tidak mementingkan diri

sendiri dari seseorang yang melaksanakan suatu tugas khusus untuk

orang lain dalam semangat persaudaraan manusia. Apakah dilakukan
tanpa bayaran maupun untuk suatu pengakuan atau kompensasi, faktor
utama adalah bahwa pelaksanaannya bukanlah dengan keinginan untuk

memperoleh keuntungan finansial namun dengan komitmen pribadi dan

kesetiaan terhadap tujuan kemanusiaan.
 Prinsip Kesukarelaan Dalam PMI
Dalam menjalankan organisasi , semua anggota Gerakan
Internasional Palang Merah dan Bulan Sabit Merah mengacu
pada tujuh Prinsip Dasar. Yaitu: kemanusiaan, kesamaan,
kenetralan, kemandirian, kesukarelaan, kesatuan dan
kesemestaan. Dari urutannya sangat jelas bahwa Prinsip
Kesuka-relaan berada pada posisi kelima. Namun demikian,
prinsip inilah yang menggerakkan orang-orang terpanggil
jiwanya untuk mengabdi pada kepentingan menghargai
manusia
secara utuh. Inilah yang menjadi "pamrih" para sukarelawan
 Gambar disamping merupakan bentuk kesukarelaan Suzana
Georgievska satu-satunya dokter di timnya yang memberikan
bantuan kepada para migran yang berpindah melalui Macedonia
Ketika memikirkan pengalamannya, Suzana mengatakan:
“Saya merasa berguna. Bantuan yang kami berikan sangat berarti
bagi mereka dan ini juga sangat berarti bagi kami jika kami dapat
membantu situasi ini.”

Di bulan Desember ada dua peristiwa

Contoh yang diperingati sebagai hari relawan
Internasional (5 Desember) dan Nasional
kegiatan (26 Desember). Untuk tingkat nasional,
peristiwa yang melatarbelakangi adalah
kesukar- tsunami Aceh pada 26 Desember 2004
yang mengguncang Serambi Mekkah di
elaan akhir pekan. Lebih dari 200.000
korban   jiwa dengan wilayah terdampak
sangat luas sampai ke Afrika Selatan.
