Latar Belakang
Hasil Riset Kesehatan Dasar (Riskesdas, 2018) menunjukkan, dari hasil pengukuran tekanan
darah pada usia 18 tahun ke atas ditemukan prevalensi hipertensi di Indonesia sebesar
34,1%, prevalensi lansia yang hipertensi berumur 55-64 tahun sebesar 55,2%, yang berumur
65-74 tahun sebesar 63,2%, dan berumur 75 tahun ke atas sebesar 69,5%. Hipertensi atau
darah tinggi adalah penyakit yang sebagian besar adalah penyakit yang di derita oleh lanjut
usia, dimana hipertensi atau darah tinggi adalah dimana terjadinya gangguan pada pembuluh
darah yang menyebabkan suplay oksigen dalam darah menjadi lambat sampai ke jaringan
tubuh yang membutuhkan.

Hipertensi juga banyak dipengaruhi oleh gaya hidup yang kurang sehat di-
mana salah satunya hipertensi disebabkan oleh stres yang berkepanjangan
yang menyebabkan tekanan menurun. Strees yang sudah biasa karena bisa
saja di sebabkan oleh perubahan yang mendadak pada aktivitas yang bi-
asanya penderita lakukan, selain itu bisa disebabkan karena ketidakmampuan
penderita dalam menyesuaikan diri terhadap penyakit mereka sehingga
mereka bisa memperlihatkan stress yng mereka alami, depresi maupun kepu-
tus asaan mereka. Hal lain selain stres yang sering dialami oleh penderita
hipertensi lanjut usia adalah menurunya kualitas tidur yang di sebabkan oleh
beberapa faktor diantaranya bisa karena penyakit stres dan hal yang men-
jadikan kualitas tidurnya menurun. Kualitas tidur merupakan kemampuan
seseorang dalam mempertahankan keadaan tidurnya untuk mendapatkan ke-
butuhan tidur yang sesuai dengan tidur yang di butuhkan (Hidayat,2008).
