Apa itu Etika?
Etika
Etika (Yunani Kuno: "ethikos", berarti "timbul dari kebiasaan") adalah sesuatu di mana dan bagaimana cabang
utama filsafat yang mempelajari nilai atau kualitas yang menjadi studi mengenai standar dan penilaian moral Etika
mencakup analisis dan penerapan konsep seperti benar, salah, baik, buruk, dan tanggung jawab

Sebagai cabang filsafat yang membicarakan tingkah laku manusia, etika memberikan standar atau penilaian terhadap
perilaku tersebut. Oleh karena itu, etika terbagi menjadi empat klasifikasi yaitu:
• Etika Deskriptif: Etika yang hanya menerangkan apa adanya tanpa memberikan penilaian terhadap objek yang
diamati.
• Etika Normatif: Etika yang mengemukakan suatu penilaian mana yang baik dan buruk, dan apa yang sebaiknya
dilakukan oleh manusia.
• Etika Individual: Etika yang objeknya manusia sebagai individualis. Berkaitan dengan makna dan tujuan hidup
manusia.
• Etika Sosial: Etika yang membicarakan tingkah laku manusia sebagai makhluk sosial dan hubungan interaksinya
dengan manusia lain. Baik dalam lingkup terkecil, keluarga, hingga yang terbesar bernegara.
Klasifikasi di atas menegaskan bahwa etika erat kaitannya dengan penilaian. Karena pada hakikatnya etika
membicarakan sifat manusia sehingga seseorang bisa dikatakan baik, bijak, jahat, susila atau sebagainya. Secara khusus
etika ada pada prinsip manusia sebagai subjek sekaligus objek, bagaimana manusia berperilaku atas tujuan untuk dirinya
sendiri dan tujuan untuk kepentingan bersama.
ETIKA DALAM PERSPEKTIF
KRISTEN

Kata “Etika Kristen” berasal dari Bahasa Yunani “etos” yang memiliki arti adat istiadat dan kebiasaan.
Ada beberapa pengertian yang berkaitan dengan Etika dalam Kristen, antara lain:
• Suatu cabang ilmu yang membahas tata cara atau penyelesaian masalah dari sudut pandang Kristen
• Sebagai suatu ilmu yang membahas tentang moral manusia secara kritis
• Menurut Hukum Taurat, Etika dalam Kristen adalah segala perbuatan yang dikehendaki oleh Allah
untuk selalu melakukan perbuatan baik
• Tanggapan akan kasih setia Allah yang akan menyelamatkan hidup manusia
