 PENDAHULUAN
Pengalaman bertuhan (spiritual) adalah pengalaman yang unik dan
autentik. Setiap orang memiliki pengalaman yang khas dalam hal
merasakan kehadirat Tuhan. Pengalaman bertuhan dapat menjadi
bagian yang sangat erat dan mempengaruhi kepribadian seseorang.
Setiap manusia memiliki pengalaman kuat mengenai kehadirat Tuhan.
Namun seiring berkembangnya zaman dan teknologi, menghilangkan
kehangatan dan keeratan spiritual manusia terhadap Tuhan sehingga
kurang memaknai hidup secara benar dan kurang mengerti dirinya.
 PENGERTIAN SPRITUAL

Secara bahasa, spiritualitas berasal dari bahasa Latin yaitu Spiritus yang berarti
roh, jiwa, semangat. Dalam artian sebenarnya, spiritualitas adalah hidup
berdasarkan atau menurut roh. Disini roh yang dibahas yaitu roh Allah 'sendiri.
Spiritualitas adalah hidup yang didasarkan pada pengaruh dan bimbingan roh

Allah. Spiritualitas dapat diartikan sebagai bidang penghayatan batiniah
terhadap Tuhan melalui laku-laku tertentu yang sebenarnya terdapat pada setiap
agama, tetapi disini tidak semua orang beragama menekuninya.

Menurut Kementerian Pendidikan Nasional (2010; 3) "Karakter adalah watak,

tabiat, akhlak, atau kepribadian seseorang yang terbentuk dari hasil internalisasi
berbagai kebajikan (virtues) yang diyakini dan digunakan sebagai landasan untuk
cara pandang, berpikir, bersikap dan bertindak.Menurut Megawangi dalam
bukunya yaitu Darmiyati (2004: 27) mendefinisikan tentang pendidikan karakter
sebagai "Sebuah usaha untuk mendidik anak-anak agar dapat mengambil
keputusan dengan bijak dan mempraktikannya dalam kehidupan sehari-hari,
sehingga mereka dapat memberikan konstribusi yang positif pada lingkungannya.
