Pemberdayaan bukanlah program yang dapat dilaksanakan dalam jangka
waktu singkat atau bersifat temporer. Pemberdayaan harus dilaksanakan
secara berkesinambungan dengan terus mengembangkan jenis-jenis

kegiatan yang paling tepat untuk komunitas.

Program pemberdayaan yang kurang berhasil atau gagal mencapai tujuan

tentu disebabkan oleh berbagai kendala.

Menurut Watson dalam Adi (2008 : 259 – 275), “kendala yang terjadi dalam
pelaksanaan program pemberdayaan dapat berasal dari kepribadian
individu dalam komunitas dan bisa juga berasal dari sistem sosial”.

Pelaksanaan pemberdayaan masyarakat

melalui kelompok pengrajin tembaga
“Bangun Karya” dilakukan mulai dari
penyediaan sarana kerajinan, peningkatan
pengetahuan dan keterampilan, sampai
pemasaran. Pelaksanaan kegiatan dilakukan
kelompok pengrajin tembaga “Bangun
Karya” yang beralamat di Dusun Krapyak
Wetan, Panjangrejo, Pundong, Bantul, DIY
menggunakan rumah warga.
